AiProtection works great for all customers I have enabled it on. Nobody asks me to disable it. But they're not miners either.

Dude I've mined on old GPU for years with undervolt, like i do to my 3070. Never had issues. Getting like 8$ worth of eth a day.

@askan7 - this thread is definitely off topic now. At all times, if there is only one mod you can choose to install post Merlin installed firmware, it would always be Skynet for me. The base firewall is ok at best. The flexibilty that Skynet adds as an advanced firewall with little overhead is remarkable. @Adamm is a boss!

Maybe I should try to install skynet with inbound filtering disabled, since all it blocked was inbound traffic and it was my game traffic... On a known Apex legends server

Thank you all for the help. After installing ntpMerlin and changing the ntp server to europe.pool.org QOS performance seems to have improved, gaming performance is now good. Not perfect, but a big improvement.
Any ideas why ntp server is improving QOS? These improvements aren't present on dslreports.

I tested both FlexQos with fq_codel and CakeQos, no lag on Apex Legends while straeming netflix 4k (using all download) on a TV. But this can also be due to the new game update, haven't tested enough to be sure.

I would theorize it is coincidental.

I guess it was coincidental for me that I experienced a seemingly faster, lower latency network after installing/enabling chronyd via ntpMerlin too then. No gaming either though.

I might try using Unbound and ntpMerlin, might help freeing some bandwidth even if small. I don't have that many devices connected to my network and I can game most of the time without other people using the connection.

Also why Diversion Lite? I use standard since it blocks https ads aswell.



Good one. That makes sense, on Apex Legends I feel/see very small micro stutters on my movement and worse hit reg when someone is uploading/downloading something. This is with cake on, those get worse with Asus adaptive qos, while ping remains de same. ~80ms, no packet loss according to game stats.

Should I get LTE instead of ADSL while waiting for fiber? I'm still very successful with high KDR on ADSL and I can play most of the time on a quiet lan.

"no packet loss according to game stats"....i delved deeper into this. On Battlefield they apparently only show loss if it is over a second of time. I don't believe this now because ea have brought out a connection tool which sows packet loss.

in that tool loss matched malformed packets only.

but with fifa and battlefield they resend packets and don't count the original lost packet...i know this because i get a variance from 10-35% resent GVSP packets.

EA are lying big time.

..adding to that...apex egends may not use gvsp..i dont know but with normal udp packets it wont sow "resent packets" so you cant tell the true loss.
