[SCRIPT] Force IPv6 LAN DNS to mirror IPv4 DNS

Th Thank you for the confirmation, I applied the changes. They are reflected on /etc/dnsmasq.conf but by devices (pc, cellphone and ipad) are still getting the full IPv6 auto discovery IP. This is after a few service restarts and a reboot. Your scripts works since it applied the changes, but...

[SCRIPT] Force IPv6 LAN DNS to mirror IPv4 DNS

Thanks for the script! I'm not super familiar with postconf files, but I just need a *.sh under /jffs/scripts/* as explained on the Wiki, right? User scripts · RMerl/asuswrt-merlin.ng Wiki · GitHub Thank you!

    Set IPv6 DNS server

Hi @RMelin I understand what you are saying, but there's no way to manipulate what Router Advertisement will deliver. At least for the DNSv6 information. Currently the ASUS insert itself as DNS server, but I would like to set it to be my IPv6 pihole address. Thanks.

    Set IPv6 DNS server

Hi! Is there a way via the CLI (since it is not possible on the GUI due to the character limit) to add an IPv6 DNS server for your LAN DHCP configuration? Currently using IPv6 Passthrough but even with static IPv6 settings, the DNS information is for the Router and not the clients. Thanks.

    Issue on Client list

Since the last update (386.3) all the labels and pictures for clients is no longer there (not a big deal) but when I try to set it back, is not saving the changes, could it be related?

ASUSWRT 386 new guest network IP space and DHCP static IPs

Very interesting! Unfortunately I do not have the 386 version yet so I cannot test myself so I'll ask here. I like the idea of proper isolation with new subnets and like everyone here has mentioned, this is desired to isolate IOT devices, but what about wired devices? I would like to put my...

384.14_2 on AC86U | Disassociated because sending station is leaving...

After some reading I came up with the below configuration. Once I set the Channel bandwidth and Control Channel to one, and only one value the WLCEVENTD went away and with that the disconnections. I tried leaving the Channel bandwidth dynamic (20/40 MHz) while changing Control Channel from auto...

384.14_2 on AC86U | Disassociated because sending station is leaving...

I do have Smart Connect enabled. Taking into consideration Maverickcdn's comments, could you consider these events "normal" due to the nature of Smart Connect? It has not been so long to confirm if all my nodes are experiencing *drops* because of this. All my devices should be capable of...

384.14_2 on AC86U | Disassociated because sending station is leaving...

I did a reboot, not a factory reset on the router. As you can see on the logs, the reboot happened around 10am and 2h later I still have good amount of WLCEVENTD. I do not see why a factory reset will make a difference. Thanks.

384.14_2 on AC86U | Disassociated because sending station is leaving...

Update #2: I found this discussion where RMerlin suggests to disable a few settings which I did for 2.4ghz and 5ghz. - Disable Universal/Implicit Beamforming (Explicit is fine) - Disable Airtime Fairness - Disable MU-MIMO After 1h still having drops :( Is there a way on the CLI where I can...

384.14_2 on AC86U | Disassociated because sending station is leaving...

A little update: still having troubles with v384.13 - all my devices are experiencing short disconnections, I can even match my phone and router logs when it happens which discards this to be a cosmetic issue.

384.14_2 on AC86U | Disassociated because sending station is leaving...

dave14305 is correct, after the downgrade I still have some WLCEVENTD, but I do not thing they are "normal" since the devices disconnecting are Smart Speakers (2) and my cellphone to list a few. I'll keep a close eye to the performance and report back. Regards.

Having similar issues on my RT-AC86U running v384.14, but in my case all my devices eventually experience a problem. I have smart connect ON since I noticed that everything was using 2.4GHz no matter what. Example below of my smart speaker. Feb 5 11:25:20 wlceventd: WLCEVENTD...

    IPv6 bug?

My apologies for the delay guys, I tried both suggestions and I still cannot make it work. If I plug my PC directly to router Google Fiber gave me I do get IPv6 (the same way the router it is getting IPv6 on it's WAN interface). I'll keep it disable for the time being en revisit later. Thank...

    IPv6 bug?

mmmm not really. I do see my asus router receiving a valid IPv6 address from my ISP on the WAN interface. The LAN devices are the ones that do not receive one. Thanks.

    IPv6 bug?

Just FYI - I did a factory reset with the newest version, and still the same problem. My LAN devices cannot get an IPv6, so I have disable IPv6 all together for the moment.

    IPv6 bug?

Hello @CooCooCaChoo I have Skynet and Ad-Blocker installed, I believe the latter one uses the dnsmasq.conf Would you recommend to go back to default settings and start fresh?

    IPv6 bug?

Hello @CooCooCaChoo Attached is the screenshot requested. My ISP is Google Fiber - the WAN interface does have a valid IPv6 that I can ping from the internet. Thanks for the help.

    IPv6 bug?

I upgraded to the newest version (384.14) and I still cannot make it work. The only way my devices get an IPv6 is if I force ALL the settings, but since those are not real IPs my IPv6 connectivity cannot go beyond my LAN. I tried using a /65 prefix but ASUS does not understands that and having...
