[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Just limit streaming to 90% instead. Wouldn't that be easier? The issue might still be the default burst/cburst rates (non modifiable from the UI currently)

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Haha I did say that, but I held off the initial release until I had everything implemented. All of these .X releases in the last two days mostly were minor bug fixes and user requested features. Nice, I will have to take a look at it, since that is the ONLY one I used. I saw its performance...

Or bursts can be lowered for the streaming, file downloads, & game downloads category by manually modifying the script. I am thinking about including this as a future toggle in the UI but I am currently busy. For the time being I can supply an alternative curl link with VERY low bursts...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Hi @RMerlin, I already caught that the table was generated twice on initial load. I already had that line removed from my variant of the Qos_Stats page. get_data(); //draw_conntrack_table(); get_data() already draws table Its was not the sort functions from the tableApi that were...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Your (Asus) QOS saved settings were lost during the update. It wasn’t anything caused by the script as I don't touch those parameters and allow for default behavior.

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

The intended action is that font size will be reduced by 25% if the AppDB name is very long. What happened in the screenshot is that the label was very long and later had its name overwritten to relatively short Rule2. The previous font reduction in remained place. I will push an update to...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Actually, the fresh install command in the first post two curl requests. You are not downloading the WebUI page since you are not using the intended install command. I do see your point. There is no reason not to have it one curl request, and have the -install function perform the second...

It’ll settle down. Pretty sure this is the last bug!!

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Nope reread my last post. I got everything figured out. 2 things need fixing and one thing needs some creative thinking. The reported bug was tricky to figure out what could be causing it. On the surface the rules look fine and bulletproof. The problem was due to how TC and iptables interact...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

@lilstone87 argg, I thought I fixed that. (I think I only fixed one of the two rules) 1)I have to change that port to 443 2)I also have to fix game transferring detection on the upload rule. Should be dports instead of sports. — Anyway. Nothing from my end would cause traffic to be...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

@lilstone87 thanks for the detailed report. Can you reenable the glitched rule and send me the output of iptables -vL -t mangle To clarify. With the gaming rule enabled, the traffic disappears entirely for QOS?

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Untracked goes to others. It may or may not go to "Gaming" for the specified gaming rule devices. If your game downloads in are appearing in wrong categories, then you can create another rule to correct this.

amtm amtm - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu

I too perfered would of preferred ‘e’ as as a hidden input, knowing it’s an option. I did change the parsed input and prompts to only show and accept ‘e’ to meet amtm compliance but deep down I few like numpad0 better. It allowed for one hand operation and visually printed onto the screen...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

That was the issue. The built in rules are ipv4 ONLY (see table name). Your usenet traffic was ipv6. IPv6 support is kinda tricky. The implementation is not complicated but there is not much room in nvram to store an additional 4 rules especially with longer ipv6 addresses. Some hacky...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Because the programmer of the dpi database wanted boosted priority for his downloads? Because news groups were originally forums? No one knows. The more important question is why the iptables rules wasn’t hitting. Where are you getting your local port / remote port data from since iptables...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

TCP remote port 563? Because this rule is not hitting. 0 0 MARK tcp -- any br0 anywhere anywhere multiport sports nntp, snews MARK set 0x80030001 Or just look up the mark from the tracked connection table or appdb and redirect that.

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Iptables is showing zero hits for the built in Usenet rule so it seems your Usenet transfers are on non standard ports. Since DPI picking it up as Usenet, why don’t you create a rule for the Usenet mark (nntp) into downloads... no brainer

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Try power cycling the router. Post results of iptables -vL -t mangle (How is your traffic appearing in the tracked connections table, is it on the expected Usenet ports)

amtm amtm - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu

I draw over the screen instead or reprinting it completely where applicable (It’s much quicker). With scrollback enabled, if a user scrolls up and then submits input, the redraw might happen over the wrong area and the page will be garbled. With scrollback disabled, the current screen was more...
