Asus RT-AX58U V1 where to buy these days?

I was looking at ubiquity and some others. Just mainly want something stable and secure and $300 upper ceiling. Just wish I had more time to learn the stuff better.

Asus RT-AX58U V1 where to buy these days?

The gt6000 is a nice chunk of hardware for sure. Thing is if an old ac68u is doing the job hard to justify $500 +13% tax. If it had 8 10Gb ports I would pay that lol

Asus RT-AX58U V1 where to buy these days?

Both versions of the ax58u? Looking at Ax86u but after 13% tax it comes in at 3x the price of the ax58u. I could check out the AX68u. Thanks

Asus RT-AX58U V1 where to buy these days?

V2 seems to be superior to v1 except merlin support? If the store has both versions I’m assuming v2 would be the better choice?

Asus RT-AX58U V1 where to buy these days?

Thanks ISP is 350/10 cable. My PC is hardwired but rest of family is on wifi. I don’t know how much support the ac68u has left and the ax58u is on sale for $130 cnd. Was looking at Ax86u but sale is still $300. House is 1800sqft 2 story from 80s with walls everywhere. Furthest point...

Asus RT-AX58U V1 where to buy these days?

I’m guessing either of these would be a big step up from an old ac68u??

Asus RT-AX58U V1 where to buy these days?

Interesting. I did not know merlin was not supported on Ver. 2 What changed? edit got it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Asus_routers#ASUS_Wireless_ax_Routers hmmm looks like incremental improvement all around, especially on cpu, just lacking merlin FW. I'm assuming generic wrt and...

    AX58U sale - decent deal?

I have an AC68U now. I know the AX86U is a much beefier router than the AX58U, but it's double the price. I thought the AX86S was half the cpu vs the AX86U?? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Asus_routers Does the S have merlin support?

    9000ft house. Need good coverage.

I don't have a mansion/villa like that, but I do have a 2 story. My router is in the basement, well ceiling, I made a shelf below the joists (drop ceiling) so it's basically central to the house, and my old 68u (on balanced power) covers it all no issue, and that's mid-80s style with walls...

    Router Basic Security Sticky/Tutorial

I noticed there are next to nothing for stickies/tutorials in the security section. Also a lot of this is beyond the avg user. I was wondering if it's possible to add one, something basic for the avg user. As in, no scripts, add-ons etc. Basic as in, easy and quick to do by anyone, and ONLY...

P Paranoia or tunnel vision? Lol i personally don’t have any add ons. Stock merlin and stock settings and basic open dns in the wan. always trying to learn more and get the best bang for effort though as I am not an expert in routers or cyber security.
