You should not use Google dns and open DNS because you will be leaking DNS to google and open dns use the default dns of your vpn provider and leave the google and open dns for local isp traffic providing you use policy rules. -

Make sure you have respond to dns and advertise dns to clients. You can also have a firewall issue with the phone and your messenger if this doesn't work try firewall external only instead of auto also what version of firmware are you using? -

I had a similar issue where PIA would disconnect everyday and wouldn't re connect as you had. I was on 380.66.2 when I updated to 380.66.4 I had no more issues. I didn't have to reboot the router all I had to do was disconnect the VPN service and re connect. I just upgraded to 380.66.6 I will... -

Can't get openvpn server working on Asuswrt-Merlin

Even Pia removed ns-cert-type server from their scripts so its safe to remove it from custom configurations thanks for the tip :) -

You are right. I had to reset my VPN and it did the same thing. So ns-cert-type server has to be removed and everything works. I have a feeling there is a problem with 2.4 OpenVPN with PIA because the new cipher don't work I will update the guide as soon as I figure out if its possible to use...
