Scribe Where is the routers source/original unfiltered syslog

I assume you are separating out these particular messages into their own files but want to go back and see in the whole raw sequence what surrounds them. If you wanted to, you could define a template for those particular messages and add some text that highlights them as they are written to...

    VPN Director question

Thanks. Doh, I'm surprised I didn't put it down as 0.0.0.0/32. Staring at the wrong thing. That fixed the problem with the single device. I hadn't been able to get the site to site working using blank for the local ip and had to fill in the local network, but it looks like that isn't...

    VPN Director question

I'm moving my setup from OpenVPN to Wireguard and have stumbled. I have an AX-88U setup with an OpenVPN server and a Wireguard server, and an Ax-86Pro setup with two OpenVPN clients and one Wireguard client. On the client side I want traffic (a) to or from the AX-88U LAN to go over the VPN, (b)...

VPNMON POLL: Who is your preferred VPN provider?

VPNUnlimited Very responsive tech support. Lifetime was reasonable.

VPNMON POLL: Who is your preferred VPN provider?

You might give Oracle's free tier a try first.

Devices connect to my openvpn server correctly but no traffic from server to client

The server sets compression to "disable". The client log says "none". That's not the same. Edit the client.ovpn to delete the compression line and try again. While you are at it, you might regenerate your certificates and re-export the client. 2.6 has deprecated/renamed/changed some things.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.4 is now available

On an AX86Pro: I have two VPN clients active. One has been disconnecting (not sure why but that is a separate problem). On the status page it shows as connected, without the traffic information below it; on the client page it shows as connected but the slider is "off". I thought it might be...

    Entware Entware Update

Syslog-ng.conf got overwritten for me and failed to start. Back it up first. Odd since there was no update.

How to auto-restart remote clients (an Asus RT-AC68U) OpenVPN client

[Begin cheerleading] Watching this closely and thanks for the effort being put into this. A key differentiating feature of AsusMerlin is the ability to have 2 servers and clients to be able to have a chance to go in and fix something on either side, and boy have I needed it. Like the OP, my...

    Syslog-NG "system messages" weirdness

Like a rug it is important to have an error, in order to let the evil spirits out. Speaking of evil spirts, is this Trend Micro? https://www.snbforums.com/threads/remove-trendmicro-debug-infro-from-log-deleting-skynet-logs-also.69801/

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 Beta is now available for AC models

I was somewhat hesitant because I am using this now principally as a VPN TAP client and there had been reports of reboots. I haven't had that with the alpha or with this beta. But: I have this set as a VPN TAP client, redirecting all traffic (but not via VPN Director, which doesn't accept all...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 Beta is now available for AC models

I did a dirty upgrade and again have access to the GUI.

    amtm Segmentation Fault in AMTM

I think it is an important design goal that the system--meaning the router itself--continue to function even if the USB system fails. Everything USB dependent should be nice-to-haves, or useful, but not essential.

Using Merlin router to access public Wi-Fi and create a private Wi-Fi in an RV

Not exactly what the OP is looking for. Sure, you can do that using your phone's cell data at whatever speed or cost applies. And it sounds like the OP isn't worried about the RV not having a connection when he's out and about... He could go all out using stuff like this...

Asus GT-AX11000 (3004.388.4_beta3) OPENVPN Server help needed vith Site to Site

Thanks for setting me straight, very helpful. In the later post I see two 1.png pix, one this way and the other with client/client.

Asus GT-AX11000 (3004.388.4_beta3) OPENVPN Server help needed vith Site to Site

It looks like progress on the Asus side. I don't understand how 1.png and 2.png are in the mix. If "client" is connected the rest should work; if "hofvpnclient" is connected that won't work. So now it is on the Netgear side. If it were a Asus Merlin on that side it would be trivial.

Asus GT-AX11000 (3004.388.4_beta3) OPENVPN Server help needed vith Site to Site

Perhaps I misunderstood. I thought the OP was having trouble reaching the client network from the server network, not the other way around.

Asus GT-AX11000 (3004.388.4_beta3) OPENVPN Server help needed vith Site to Site

Yes, I figured that from the rest. But, for example, my ISP modem sits at 192.168.1.254 and hands out addresses in 192.168.1.xx; nothing I can do about that except stay away from 192.168.1.xx addresses everywhere.

Asus GT-AX11000 (3004.388.4_beta3) OPENVPN Server help needed vith Site to Site

Not trying to be snarky, but almost everything. I have no experience with Netgear so you are on your own there. I assume when you connect, devices on the client side can reach devices on the server side? It isn't a safe assumption because there is confusion among client, and hoffvpnclient, so...

    Diversion Diversion 4.3.3 - the Router Ad-Blocker, released April 02 2023

I will shed a tear saying tschau-tschau to this old friend. When last I looked pixelserv-tls had successfully substituted zero https requests, so the ad-meisters seem to have blocked that form of single pixel hijacking. I've barely noticed the increased amount of whitespace on pages. Still...
