Thank you.
Hey @JTnola ... just made the leap, and so far, no ill effects! :)

FYI: If you are an AdGuardHome user make sure to reboot device after the update or CPU usage goes crazy and logs flooded with these:

S99AdGuardHome[1526531]: Lock owned by 1520077 exists; preventing duplicate runs!
S99AdGuardHome[1526531]: Warning: AdGuardHome is dead; Monitor will start it!
S99AdGuardHome[1526531]: Lock owned by 1520077 exists; preventing duplicate runs!
S99AdGuardHome[1526531]: Warning: AdGuardHome is dead; Monitor will start it!

after reboot everything is fine.

Just updated entware and every installed addons are working as previously.

Because the syslog-ng guys just can't stop changing things ...

If you "scribe status" after updating entware, syslog-ng throws a warning about an obsolete keyword in syslog-ng.conf. Fortunately it doesn't hurt anything now, but I'll figure out a fix for it. syslog-ng continues to work.

Oh, look, no documentation on the change. Fortunately other people figured it out, so I have a fix.

I wonder if I would have had this many problems if I had just learned rsyslog instead ...

Hello,

Updated Entware last night. Initially I got chronyd error

Code:
Jun 4 02:27:40 chronyd[19757]: chronyd version 4.3 starting (+CMDMON +NTP +REFCLOCK -RTC +PRIVDROP -SCFILTER -SIGND +ASYNCDNS +NTS -SECHASH +IPV6 -DEBUG)
Jun 4 02:27:40 chronyd[19757]: Fatal error : Could not open /opt/etc/chrony/chrony.conf : No such file or directory

Other addons using Entware was fine. When I cd into that directory, I only fine chrony.conf.example etc, I figured because ntpMerlin path was
Code:
opt/share/ntpmerlin.d/chrony.conf
it shouldn't be a problem.

But when I rebooted router I got this error
Code:
Jun 4 02:43:36 kernel: Failed delete entry fe80:0000:0000:0000:5ce1:06ff:feb5:5999 ^M

I've never receive this log before. I have ipv6 disabled. Any ipv6 related logs are during bootloader stage. I can verify ntpMerlin is running as usual, and all ntp intercept port 123 are working for all network clients. Should I be worried about the kernel message with the private ipv6 address? I rebooted again this morning, the same log appears.

Nudging this back to life, because I updated my AC86 to 386.12, and thought I'd check if entware needed a bump too, and there were new packages/updates.

It's safe to update the entware packages.

Syslog-ng.conf got overwritten for me and failed to start. Back it up first. Odd since there was no update.

chrony was failing and not running. Reboot seems to resolved it
