Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.8_4 is now available

Went from 388.8_2 to 388.8_3 and most everything was fine. Have had problems with IoT devices namely a Water Heater, a Smart Bed and an Echo Plus that were running fine before, chalked it up to the devices because all but the Water Heater, after a reset/reboot connected fine. The Water Heater...

    Home setup

The switch doesn’t care about VLANs as far as I can tell from the product page TP Link switch SOFTWARE FEATURES Transmission Method Store and Forward Advanced Functions Green Technology 802.3x Flow Control Back Pressure 802.1p/DSCP QoS Wondering how it/if handles/passes LLDP?

    Home setup

Wasn't VLAN as in my case a layer 2 switch (different ones as well, likely something to do with SSDP), but I digress If you were able to add one upstairs router as a node (connected via its WAN port) when directly connected to the downstairs router (LAN port)? I'm guessing so based on the...

    Home setup

I got a similar setup to yours, minus the switch in the middle and one router. For some reason I never did look to deeply into why putting a switch between the router an node has been was an issue for me, no matter. Could you plug the WAN port of one of the upstairs routers to the wire coming...

So Long, Thanks For All The Help

My setup is pretty much stable, took me a bit to get the WiFi just right, but I suspect that's going to be the same regardless. Also pretty much hands off right now, unless something goes south, Police helicopter fly bys, or someone brings up their system using a similar channel for example...

Do a lookup on the public IP address that assigned to the router using one of the tools over the Internet (hint: Google search) you should get results back showing something akin to the IP address, being Public, belonging on the AT&T network and located in the US. You can also try Check your IP...

AT&T BGW320 Gateway + Asus or Netgear Router results in unexpected geo-block from various websites.

No, the WAN IP of the router should not start with 192.168. Based on your modem, in the picture above, it start with 68.x.x.x In my case... The broadband IPv4 address is the passthrough address assigned to the router if configured correctly. the Gateway IPv4 address is the IP address assigned...

AT&T BGW320 Gateway + Asus or Netgear Router results in unexpected geo-block from various websites.

This is a non-routable IP, so No you're not in passthrough mode. At the bottom of the status page on the modem you should see something like this. The WAN IP (in my case starts with 99.x.x.x, a routable IP address) as should yours (a routable IP) if its setup corrrectly As well as on the Home...

No, QoS and/or AiProtection does, cut my SpeedTest results in half when I run a SpeedTest on the router. Didn't impact the clients (wired or WiFi) clients don't get impacted as drastically if at all. Yes, run a SpeedTest on the clients and not the router or take a brute force approach and...

    Warranty RT-BE96U

You could, if flashing with Merlin, install BACKUPMON, backup your config. If concerned about the warranty, do a reset, optionally load ASUSWRT before returning it. Then put Merlin on the replaced router and restore the config, reboot. Not that I'm suggesting you should, but you could 🤷‍♂️;)
