Buying advice: TP-Link EAP225 AccessPoint (without Omada) works with Asus router?

In that switch I already have connected 4 x IP-Cams (@2MPx) (10/100 FE ports) powered over PoE and also a Qnap NAS as NVR which is connected on one of the Gigabit ports of the switch. As long as the IP-Cams are 10/100, I don't need Gigabit ports for them. I know that 2MPx is outdated in 2022...

Buying advice: TP-Link EAP225 AccessPoint (without Omada) works with Asus router?

Thank you! For VLANs do you think I will have to have the Omada Controller powered on during the reboot of the EAP?

Buying advice: TP-Link EAP225 AccessPoint (without Omada) works with Asus router?

Yea that’s correct, but I already own this switch from about 6 years for the cctv cameras. I will upgrade it sometime in the next years after having working the setup of the VLANs trunks between the Asus router to the outdoor TP-Link EAP. The outdoor EAP will be used by the irrigation IoT...

Buying advice: TP-Link EAP225 AccessPoint (without Omada) works with Asus router?

Q2) Related to having multiple SSIDs associated with equivalent VLANs, this is a 802.1q standard and it looks that needs to be configured from a Omada Controller. Now the next question comes: Do I need to have the Omada Controller powered all the time, or only during the reboot of the EAP? My...

Buying advice: TP-Link EAP225 AccessPoint (without Omada) works with Asus router?

Actually I have found the response to Q1) on TP-Link's FAQ section: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/2933/ " Can I connect EAP to another non-TP-Link router? Yes you can. The EAP is an access point, it can be connected to any router to improve the wireless coverage. Do I need to...

Buying advice: TP-Link EAP225 AccessPoint (without Omada) works with Asus router?

Folks, I'm looking to buy a TP-Link EAP225 Outdoor to extend the wifi range for an Asus AC66U-B1. My concern is that I see it listed under Omada family of products. It will be connected from Asus AC66U-B1 wired via PoE switch Cisco SF302-08P (which currently have VLANs configured for CCTV...

Any Merlin add-on that monitors uptime of LAN devices?

I have almost 20 devices in my home and some of them might be blocking sometimes. Do you know any add-on that monitors devices and send any kind of alert in case a device is down (not responding to pings) ?

I' ve quit the ideea of USB hdd to router and want to buy a NAS

I'm sure you will be very happy with the Synology 720+ As long as you're keeping it in another room, you won't feel the need for the HDMI port. I can think of multiple ways to display photos in a screensaver (slideshow) using QNAP. I'm sure Synology has also some options via network. 1)...

I' ve quit the ideea of USB hdd to router and want to buy a NAS

Since you mentioned Synology 720+, you may take a look at similar models from QNAP. Main advantage of QNAP over Synology is that it has HDMI output to connect it as a media station to a TV, since you mentioned in initial post about playing media. Also, usually QNAPs are little cheaper or at...

Parental Controls and Network Map have their wires crossed ...

How did you do that on iPhone? In "Screen Time" -> "Content & Privacy Restrictions" I only see "Mobile Data Changes", which I presume it doesn't permit switching On/Off the "Mobile Data".

Block access to TikTok in the morning and evening

For the beginning I will manually set NextDNS on my teens' smartphones and check how it's going. But I would have preferred to have it set from the router. Can you give little more tech details about your setup using dns-filter? Thank you!

Block access to TikTok in the morning and evening

I have activated NextDNS but it looks that our house had made about 15.000 DNS requests in 10 hours, probably we're making ~ 20.000 reqs per 24h. The free tier permits 300.000 requests / month or about 10.000 / day. It looks that we will not make it in the free tier. I like NextDNS service...

Block access to TikTok in the morning and evening

Hi all, I have AC68U with Merlin and I can install AddOns if any can do that. I want to disable access to TikTok and YouTube at specific hours in the morning and evening, but permit access to other websites in the same time. From Parental Controls -> Time Scheduling is not possible. Do you know...
