Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

@ColinTaylor With all due respect, please don't confuse people. I linked @RMerlin's response, then he himself did again, but you're still splitting hairs... If I'm wrong, I'm listening - I'd like to understand what is really going on. Until the problem is solved, I just don't enable TrendMicro.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

Reverting to previous firmware 386.11 doesn't solve the issue, as @RMerlin said: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asuswrt-merlin-386-12-is-now-available-for-ac-models.86647/page-11#post-870905 "Asus confirmed that the issue also occurs even with older firmware versions." I'm not sure I'm...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

Is it required to clean NVRAM with the `clear_vpnclients.sh` script when upgrading directly from 386.10 to 386.12? Version 386.11 specifically mentioned the need of doing so in https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asuswrt-merlin-386-11-is-now-available-for-ac-models.84975/

    Throughput testing 386.11 on RT-AC1900 (RT-AC68U)

Very nice work, congrats! I have the AC68P (AC68Uv2 B1 variant) with CPU running @1GHz and I knew it can do wired NAT around 900 Mbps and WiFi NAT around half the link speed (230 on a 450 3-stream N link, or 450 on a 866 2-stream AC link). I am curious how much the new 386.12 (still in beta)...

    AC68U Throughput

The AC68U is capable of much more than 110-130 Mbps, even with a PPPoE connection. But that's using an Ethernet cable, not via WiFi. The bottleneck is the WiFi. What WiFi client device are you testing it with? Note: For those saying this is an old device and it can't cope, yadda yadda... well...

I've been eagerly waiting for this. GPL 386_51997 is newer than latest stock for AC68U 386.51665, which is amazing https://www.snbforums.com/threads/latest-rt-ac68u-asuswrt-stock-vs-merlin-security.86090/ A massive thank you goes out to @RMerlin !

Asus updates its EOL list, adds RT-AC1750, AC1900P, AC88U, AC5300

That's interesting... what do you mean by recent hardware? Some examples would be nice. What about an old AC68U v2 (B1) with dual-core 1 GHz Broadcom CPU?

Asus updates its EOL list, adds RT-AC1750, AC1900P, AC88U, AC5300

So I guess RT-AC68P (AC68U v2) is not EOL... yet. Or is it?

Asus updates its EOL list, adds RT-AC1750, AC1900P, AC88U, AC5300

@DocUmibozu Just wondering, does OpenWrt offer hardware accelerated NAT for some/any hardware?

Asus may have some upcoming competition

If it's MediaTek, it could run OpenWrt if they get one to add support.

Solved A question about installing Merlin firmware to brand new RT-AX88U PRO

Going from stock to Merlin (or vice-versa) I would definitely do a factory reset after. I wouldn't risk running into weird issues and then having to come to the forums and ask what could be wrong. In the end, the recommendation would invariably be: just do a reset after flashing & then manual...

Latest RT-AC68U Asuswrt stock vs Merlin security

This may have been discussed in some detail here: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/merlin-firmware-and-cve-security-patches.85764/ but I have yet to find a definite answer to the following question: If I compare the latest Asuswrt stock firmware 3.0.0.4.386.51665 from...

ASUS urges customers to patch critical router vulnerabilities

Well, it doesn't really make much sense. Why would ASUS come out with this statement BEFORE actually releasing the fixed firmwares themselves? https://www.asus.com/content/asus-product-security-advisory/ 06/19/2023 New firmware with accumulate security updates for... Meanwhile, the latest...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.10 is now available for AC models

Well, that looks pretty bad. Anyone else compared OpenVPN performance between 386.7.2 and 386.10 on RT-AC68U, for example?
