amtm amtm 3.2.x - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu

I think you’re massively overreacting to what should be a reasonable discussion about the functionality. I would have to check and see in this case but I frequently make voluntary donations to public developers etc.

amtm amtm 3.2.x - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu

OK. So we disagree about 1. I know it is "done automatically", very obviously that's exaclty what I said it did - but i'm saying that as a not-the-developer-person user, this is not what I would expect the behavior to be - to at least have a prompt that says "confirm this" is what I would...

amtm amtm 3.2.x - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu

Couple odd behaviours I stumbled on with AMTM today. My router reboot cron got broken somehow and router was behaving erratically after being up for about a month (doesn't seem - famous last words - to be compromised but that's a different story...) External disk had unmounted and router had...

WebUI pages not mapping to AddOns?

Having trouble with any of the WebUI pages showing up under AddOns via the UI. Have scMerlin, connmon, spdMerlin, ntpMerlin, Skynet installed. Skynet page maps fine under Firewall, none of the rest appear. The AddOns link goes only / directly to the Help & Support page...

    RT-AC3200 384.13_10 exploited - runtime.log / upgrade.sh / chkupdate.sh attack

Just FYI in case this "is going around". Same as here: http://www.snbforums.com/threads/list-of-legitimate-processes-on-router.65694/post-609286 And here: https://mattyb.co.za/index.php/2020/08/12/routers-are-secure-right-asus-lyra-hacked/ Some notables: I haven't found a name for this...

    Goodbye ASUS, I give up.

LOL. I'd entirely forgotten the term "DASD". IBM vocab was like Scientology back in the day... lots of proprietary lingo...

    Universal Setting Restoration?

I'd say depends on what problems you're seeing / severity. The important stuff on /jffs for asuswrt is /configs, /scripts, and then a series of hidden (.xxx) directories generally for preserving history and/or settings. Mostly I wouldn't worry about it but if you really have issues then yes...

    Universal Setting Restoration?

I know man, that's why I made the jokes about people getting upset... I totally hear where you're coming from and if I was supporting a bunch of 3rd party sites I'd probably have my routine (and a documented checklist) for "base clean setup" down pat. I recognize you are not one of the...

Odd "kernel: TCP: time wait bucket table overflow" vs Bitvise?

Yeah, my feeling was, better to close the bad sockets a little earlier, and not just make a bigger bucket of bad connections. The only knock-on problem should be a connection with an actual load of latency and/or some weird a slow application behavior expecting the connection to still be open...

amtm amtm - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu

No I don't use Diversion. So the old one had all the purty colors, and the screenies on page 1 look all purty, but now theres not purty colors unless you load Diversion?

amtm amtm - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu

Just updated and not getting the purty colorz anymore? Previous versions looked fine. Maybe a term setup on my side? Using Bitvise, tried xterm and xterm-256, both look same.

Odd "kernel: TCP: time wait bucket table overflow" vs Bitvise?

Just a bit of an FYI here really but a few times in last week I've had massive time_wait overflow messages overwhelming my logfiles. Most threads on that error talk about DOS attacks and whatnot, but looking into it, the open time_wait connections all were from my main admin PC and appear to...

    Universal Setting Restoration?

I would never try restoring a config file to a different firmware version, ever. Even if ASUS or whoever claims its OK. If I was going to do that, I'd probably try an NVRAM scripting backup/restore utility. There's threads here on one that used to be great but it hasn't been maintained...

Yet another malware block script using ipset (v4 and v6)

Yeah vi is always fun to learn (re-learn). Could be way worse, could be emacs. HA! Reminds me of a party I was at in Cambridge years ago when I blithely told my poor layman non-programmer-non-geek friend "hey you should probably use vi instead of emacs if you have to work at a UX command line...

Yet another malware block script using ipset (v4 and v6)

I don't use this script (yet at least... I found this thread because I'm looking for good scripts to run on my DD-WRT boxes...) but; Bro, that's just par for the course for running iptables firewall scripts like this that go grab publicly curated lists. You just need to know thats part of the...

spdMerlin spdMerlin - Automated speedtests with graphs

I have the same problem w/ screens... Agree with your reservations re: usefulness... That said, for my current locations not-particularly-superfast bandwidth (~200Mb), the measurements are pretty consistent with other devices, but if this was like gigabit I imagine it'd be a problem...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Hey JR - I just updated to latest script and the install routine didn't recognize my system as Merlin, so I had to answer the "stock or not" question. Is that normal? AC3200 w/ 384.11. Als0... is there a reason you don't setup an updater script? I assume if I homebrew that, then I need to...

    [Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.11 is available

So 384.11 upgraded smooth as silk but seems like DoT misses AC3200's eh? I presume this is linked to us being stuck on the old blobs? NEVER MIND. Upgrade didn't go smooth as silk. Apparently upload never finished and so I hadn't completed the update. Its all there. #doh.
