    Just tried again and for the 3100 the firmware is still completely borked makes a brick every time. My buddy called me this afternoon at work he updated his 3100 and yep its bricked.     Yep bricked my 3100 tried to recover back to previous but no internet connection. WTF this is stupid how could Asus be so Fuxxx Up... Factory resets of any kind do NOT work. Epic Fail !!     Working fine on my AC3100. Still have the issue only once in awhile though were logging in to the UI it shows the memory graph as pegged and the UI is unresponsive. I have to close Chrome and log in again. And yes i have cleared all cookies and Contol + F5. Certainly not a deal breaker.

    The DSL version is also a modem as well. The RT versions are stand alone routers.

    This is in a perfect world of witch we do not live in. In reality Asus or any other router vendor don't care how hard you work for your money they just want as much of it as they can get. :eek:o_O

    That may be so but there have been security updates since that release. So while it may work good for you the router is not secure if your ok with that then all is good.

    Recovery mode is turn off router. Turn router back on while holding the factory reset button. When the power light on the far left is blinking your in recovery mode.

    Fans are not needed. Bottom line its normal and it's ok. I have had many routers and none of them have failed over heat. In fact none of them really failed at all i just upgraded. :D

    Ok i have not tried the HTTPS method what is involved in using this. Basically how do i do this. I assume its more secure then HTTP. Sorry i am a little behind the times here and does this work with only merlin builds ? Can someone explain ? Sorry if i am off topic. Jim !!

    My 3100 same hardware runs CPU about 71-75 C depending on air temp around it. But yeah no worries.. Mine stays a little cooler from having 2.4 GHz disabled.

    Noticing a few times i log in to the UI either it freezes or wierd things show up like the memory usage graph sits pegged out and the UI is unresponsive. I can close it and try again and its ok again. Using latest Chrome. Never had this with your other builds. I am sure i cant be alone on this...
