    ac87 concurent client limit?

Bought another router to use as an AP, not problems since.

    ac87 concurent client limit?

Hi, 1. Volumio. 2. Yes. 3. Not for long and it got worse with time, at first a restart was good for a couple of days at least, later on, for a few hours at most and occasionally rpis would drop from wifi during music playback (usually it happened when they were idle). 4. Yes, I had issues on...

    ac87 concurent client limit?

Update: After changing the channel for 2.4GHz, RPi's are not dropping from network anymore, even though I am back on the same channel as before... Seems like the router needed to have the settings "refreshed"? Sadly, that's not the case for 5GHz... Also 5GHz is weird as @Sky noticed from the...

    ac87 concurent client limit?

Domain666/5G are my SSIDs.; Domain665 too, but thats another router in the basement so not important in this case. RPi's are b/g/n/ac, before this issue I had them on 5GHz, and I plan to return them to 5GHz if possible. Thanks for the explanation; I wasn't aware of prime channels, I thought they...

    ac87 concurent client limit?

I changed 2.4GHz channel to 1. What makes you think it will work better on 1? I get a lot of overlap in both cases. How would you suggest to max bandwidth for 5GHz?
  6. S

    ac87 concurent client limit?

Still only RPI's having the problem; laptop, phone and tablet work normally on both frequencies. For 5GHz (Domain666_5G) all setting are already set as @Sky recommended and I am the only one in range using it, so interference is quite unlikely to be the cause of the problem. For 2.4GHz...

    ac87 concurent client limit?

Well, I switched RPi's to 2.4 GHz and the issue still exists, so my second assumption that 5ghz is to blame is incorrect. I'll check WinFi and inSSIDer next, thanks for the suggestion.

    ac87 concurent client limit?

Well this exact same setup worked without problems for a couple of years, and at the time when problems began I didn't upgrade or change anything, so I am a bit puzzled... Could be that router is starting to give up since it was damaged by lightning about a year ago (dead wan port), but until...

    ac87 concurent client limit?

RPi is running a music player os/distribution (volumio) which has option to store credentials for a single wifi network, so jumping around isn't an option, afaik. Is it possible to see if the router is forcibly disconnecting a client in log? The other disappearing RPI has ~10dBm stronger...

    ac87 concurent client limit?

FW is latest. Both rpi's are missing and of course are unreachable as well. Phone and tablet works fine. No errors in syslog A few refreshes later, on RPi appeared back and it is reachable and works as it should. After a few restarts of the missing RPi it is also back and working normally. I...

    ac87 concurent client limit?

Latest fw, I believe, I'll check when I get home. Clients aren't spread evenly, most are on 2.4GHz, because they don't support 5GHz. The ones having problem are on 5GHz, though (a few RPi 3b+) Adding meaning connecting clients to the wifi, disappearing meaning they can't be reached on the network.

    ac87 concurent client limit?

Is there a practical limit to how many clients it can handle (in AP mode if it matters)? Atm I have around 20 clients connected, most to 2.4GHz, some on 5GHz, and after adding the last few (on 2.4) some of the existing clients on 5GHz are disappearing and I can only get them back after either a...

    x86/x64 router build advice

Well, that defeats the purpose of having a guest wifi. I would like to avoid having to use 2 APs if possible, hence the question.

    x86/x64 router build advice

Can AC87U in AP mode be used to transmit home wifi and guest wifi somehow?

    AC87u dead wan port

Router works, I assigned one of the Lan ports as wan, but I would like to try to fix the wan port.

    AC87u dead wan port

Lightning damage... I was told that if I am lucky it only killed the component in the picture, which can be replaced. Problem is, I can't find it anywhere, so if anybody knows, I would be grateful.

    AC87U QoS problem

Bandwidth limiter is static, so I would need to change it all the time, because I want the torrent PC to use all the bandwidth when nothing else is.

    AC87U QoS problem

LoL@me... Thanks :) edit: Still doesn't seem to work properly? Bittorrent still gets most of the bandwith, while browser download only a fraction. Anything wrong with my settings?

    AC87U QoS problem

I tried to set it up, but I am failing - not for the first time. This time, I have a very basic scenario, one PC is solely a torrent box atm, so I would like to assign the lowest priority to it, another a gaming PC which should have the highest priority. Adaptive QoS apparently doesn't...

    x86/x64 router build advice

Thanks for info, will take a look at sophos-xg-firewall. Ok, not much has changed regarding wifi nic support, I see. Is it possible to use a dedicated AP for both home and guest wifi or would I need 2 APs? Considering most of you are adamant NAS&torrenting and routing should be separate, what's...
