    Signal lobes of ZenWiFi-XT8's antenna?

I updated the diagram with the facing of the router. I didn't realize the orientation of routers plays an role in this. Do you mean pitching the router 90 degree up, so that asus logo is pointing up?

    Signal lobes of ZenWiFi-XT8's antenna?

This diagram is a cross section my home. There're 3 ZenWiFi-XT8 routers in the diagram. They're at the same "depth" on the diagram. The facing of the asus logo is represented by the vectors, with guest room router pointing left, bedroom into the page (that tiny "⊗"), and garden right. +...

    JFFS Full

I think I might be wrong in saying file without write permission will help. Usually, you create an empty file with the same name by running touch aabbcc000000.log, and revoke write privilege by chmod a-w aabbcc000000.loc. ("a-w" means removes write from all) But since everything is run as root...

    JFFS Full

If that's just one very large file, maybe creating a small file with the same name without write permission will help keep the file from growing.

    JFFS Full

Did you use costomized icon for devices? /jffs/usericon contains customized icons for devices, named after the device's MAC address. For example, if a device's MAC address is "AA-BB-CC-00-00-00", and you uploaded a customized icon for it, then there should be a AABBCC000000.log or...

    JFFS Full

That usericon file/folder is very large, 178M(?) almost. Maybe you can see what's in it then figure out why it is there in the first place? /jffs means to execute a binary called "jffs" in root directory. But that jffs is a directory, so you get a permission error. What you want to do is cd /jffs.

running ssh processes with sites like github times out when connected to a network through Asus AC68U

That sounds like something is wrong with your ISP. One way to verify this is to bypass the ASUS router and see if the problem persists.

    JFFS Full

You can log into your router via SSH and run du /jffs to find out which files take up most of the space.

Tutorial Fix full /jffs without factory reset

Also in my case /jffs/.sys/TrafficAnalyzer/TrafficAnalyzer.db alone took up 30MB, and the journal for this database took up addtional 15MB as the last nail on the coffin. I think some past ASUS firmware update might have been shipped with a regression that prevented traffic ayalyzer's database...

Tutorial Fix full /jffs without factory reset

In your case your JFFS is almost full, so you can still remove files. My JFFS is full to to the brim, so I had to remake the filesystem.

In which language should I send feedback?

There's a feedback button on the GUI, and I want to send some feedback to ASUS. My router's GUI language is set to English but it's being used in China. This got me thinking, should I write the feedback in English, or in Chinese? Or should I just write feedback here?

Tutorial Fix full /jffs without factory reset

I do not have physical access to the router. Once the router is reset, I will lose access to it because it cannot connect to the Internet via PPPoE anymore. So I must use this method that fixes the problem without resetting.

Tutorial Fix full /jffs without factory reset

I recently ran into a full JFFS2 system at /jffs due to bloated /jffs/.sys/TrafficAnalyzer folder. df reports that /jffs is 100% used on my router, and due to the design of JFFS, files can't be removed or edited if the disk if full. Therefore following commands are useless in this case...

If you append the "-vvv" flag to ssh command, what is the output?

    Server VPN speed 10kB/sec RT-AX92U

Did you try without VPN? For example, running iperf server on your laptop and launching an iperf client on your Android phone, to measure the connection speed between your phone and your laptop.

    Guest network for wired devices

My router does the PPPoE to access the Internet, and the modem is in bridge mode. And my ISP does not allow multiple PPPoE connections from one subscriber account. So unfortunately it won’t work.

    Guest network for wired devices

I'm a bit lost here as to how this could be the worst case scenario. Maybe there's too much overhead for the ICMP pakets generated by ping to go back and forth between internet layer and link layer on the routers, so that the result RTTs are not an accurate estimation of the delay in real life...
