    AC88U... Merlin Worth it?

    For whatever it is worth, I’m using Merlin’s firmware on my AC88U. The main reason for doing so to me is the ability to run a number of scripts (Skynet and ABS to name a few), and added features.

    Depending on which version you upgraded from, you may need to do a complete reset and re-configure. I'm running 88U without any issues.

    Do you have access to anything in your LAN from outside of your network? Do you have a DNS name for your public IP registered?

    Setting on QNAP is using UnPNP, and has nothing to do with port forwarding in the way I recommended you set things up. If you can access the interface on your LAN, then this setting should work. Do you currently have any services exposed outside?

    Just to confirm - internally you can access your NAS web interface on 8080. Correct? Please also try to enter 0.0.0.0 for source IP and hit apply. The rest looks correct to me.

    Blocklist ipset logging

    I have a few hundred thousand entries and yet to see its effect on the CPU. Theoretically speaking, there should be an increase, but if there is one, I can't see it. You can also do your own IP count, and create additional buckets as needed if you are concerned with the CPU load.
