New Around Here
Seems to be a bug in the latest stable version.
Router restarts itself for no reason, about 1min downtime when this happends.
I can see in the log rc_service: httpd 25686:notify_rc restart_wireless.

This happends for no reason at all.
Also seems to be aproblem with the 2.4ghz wifi now, only getting a 30% signal when im right next to the router with the laptop and having only 70% on the 5ghz, this 1 meter away from the router.

Let me know if i can do something to check more into this.

Depending on which version you upgraded from, you may need to do a complete reset and re-configure. I'm running 88U without any issues.

@barbieaction

Possibly unrelated to you issue, but on doing a 380.67_beta* upgrade on my rt-ac88u recently and after a reboot I notice the 2.4 GHz connections to the router were somewhat degraded. Powering OFF the router, un-plugging, waiting ~10-15 secs, plugging in/powering on the ac88u again has fixed the 2.4 GHz radio issue for me from then on.

.

I confirm this bug on 380.66_4 (n66u).
I think 380.66_4 and 380.66_6 have the same bug: the router restarts itself with no reasons.
My config:
All settings are default. Also I made reset to factory settings.
Dual WAN is configured in failover mode:
1 WAN: cable is not connected.
2 WAN: USB as Android phone (USB modem in Hilink mode).
WIFI: configured two networks 2.4 and 5 GHz.

That is why I forced to install 380.65_4 as latest stable version without this bug.

P.S. I also tried Asus original FW_RT_N66U_30043807378. It has no bug with unprompted restart.

Hi all.
The same issue with usb modems on my ASUS RT-N66U with firmware 380.66_x .
I have tested two ones Huawei 3372h and wltuba-107 (Yota). The router reboots unexpectedly under high traffic especially.
It is no such bug with the firmware 380.65_4 or with the original firmware by asus.

Having the same problem on the final. After some hours the signal strenght of the 5 GHz wlan signals is going down, the syslog is spamed with dhcp request from my new honor 9 smartphone because its always disconnecting and reconnecting. My pc with has normaly about 100% signal shows about 50%. After a reboot of the router its fixed for some hours. Did fresh installation of the router before because of that problem.

EDIT: It got that worse that windows told me there is no internet connection and my remote sessions to work got disconnected. Had to reboot the router and now its working again.
