    I use no-ip for dynamic dns http://www.noip.com/download?page=linux - anyway to integrate this into the router so the router updates the dynamic dns with the ip address instead of relying on a computer to do it?

    380.64 constant 5ghz WiFi problems?

    [Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.60 Beta is now available

    Not sure if this has been reported.. On 5ghz everytime I unselect Band1 Channels and hit apply it just rechecks it and sticks me on band1 channels. Don't like reduced transmission power so don't want those channels.

    Remote desktop doesn't work with Asus RT-AC68U router

    Just setup my AC68 and having the same issue, except I can ping my desktop. Never had this problem on my AC66. Edit: Nevermind, some how Network discoverable got disabled. I turned it back on and everything is fine.

    AC Bridge Question

    Makes sense. I tried repeater first but it was horrible unstable (AC66R kept dropping the connection and/or rebooting... Couldn't tell which cause the log didn't show anything) and I have no need for a wireless repeater and cutting my bandwidth in half.

    I dont thing so... It is strange because it shows the connection to the AC66 as 866.7 TX and RX BUT one of the ethernet clients on the AC66R it is showing as 1053 TX and 866.8 RX.

    AC Bridge Question

    I just setup my AC68 and put my AC66 in media bridge mode. Originally I tried repeater but was getting stability issues with the AC66 for some reason. The AC66 in media bridge seems to be pretty stable but why is my link speed Link rate: 877.5 Mbps when it should be 1300 or more?

    My guess is if you don't really need anything that MerlinWRT offers than sure. I really need openvpn so wasn't worth the risk of buying something that in the future could be locked down so I couldn't flash MerlinWRT.

    Yes they should. If you haven't already done this (as a test) put your 5 ghz at 80 mhz (not 20/40/80). If you have it set on "auto" switch it to N/AC mixed (or vice versa) and test those 3 clients again.

    Have slickdeal notification for ac68u. Do you think a refurbished would be OK? Edit: Well I found one on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/252381916850 - 95 dollars after shipping and the ad says "brand new" so we will see when I get it. Thank you for all the help! Will be flashing merlin on it...

You guys said the exact same thing that I was telling myself (and why I didn't buy it yet) and I just wanted to make sure I understood everything before I made the final decision...

    Awesome. One quick question on your previous response. If the Tmobile 68u is identical to the AC68U except for firmware, and you flash Merlin on it from the start, what would be a reason it couldn't be flashed in the future? Wouldn't that make it a stock AC68U?
