    Can't view forum? wipe browser.

In the absence of a PSA from THiggins, figured I would leave this notice for those such as myself that were unable to view various forums. As the title suggests, wiping your browser history, etc., will set everything in order. IE required a restart of the browser.

At what point do you just stop upgrading Merlin FW?

openssl updates are a good reason, among other security fixes. the open source world has been hit pretty hard in general this last year. also, it's good practice for the router rodeo ;)

Can you help me speed up OPENVPN on N66U?

these are for TUN users, not TAP I spent some (more) time wiresharking openvpn over the last few days. I had already done so with UDP, but still needed to with TCP. My goal for both was to find the ideal tun-mtu. My method: - I disabled MSS clamping, etc., manually set the MTU of br0...

Article discussion: Switch Your Network To IPv6

Some IPv6 observations from a 6rd user First, usually devices will connect to the outside from one of the SLAAC generated temp addresses while the static address is the IP you'd host services on. with dhcp, you can have the router delegate reduced suffixes so your mac address is never used...

Routing to modem via a switch

it sounds like he's already in a double nat; connect the switch to the cable modem/router and put the ac68 in 'AP Mode' off any of the switch's ports

Can you help me speed up OPENVPN on N66U?

something is wrong. you should really consider switching to a tun configuration. with my tun setup and a 10mbit down, 1mbit connection i generally receive ~0.6mbit up/down, which is better than half of my upload. at home, i can get nearly my full download bandwidth over openvpn using a rather...

ASUS RT-AC87 Firmware - Official Releases

He's suggesting that you have a defective unit, otherwise the cooling should be adequate. That Asus admitted to reports of faulty units suggests that a problem exists and is being looked into. And considering your temps, it's unlikely that a software resolution would fix your unit, but they...

WAN disconnects - router or ISP issue?

if the cable has any wiggle room in the jack, you might have one of the original revisions of the n66 with the STP jack. a single layer, thin strip of electrical tape around the plastic of the plug would make it fit perfectly snug if you lack the means of hacking off the connector and crimping...

    IPV6 Firewall question

i looked into this myself; unfortunately, the only way to do it would be via ebtables, which it would seem is notoriously bad for performance.

RT N66U - Packet shaping and priorities don't work for the guest network?

QoS is applied at the outgoing/wan interface, so it should be working just fine for guest networks. iptables -t mangle -L -nv to verify for yourself

lan - route : route openvpn traffic to IP?

undo all of the above; no routes are needed on the router itself, it already knows where your lan is. you were close with the openvpn command; push "192.168.1.101 255.255.255.255" in the custom config field on the router to tell clients how to find the IP 192.168.1.101 on your LAN. using...

    IPv6 Routing

in my case, I could see that my 6rd interface had /56, but the bridge is running a /64. so, like the above poster indicated, the bridge gets an IP like; FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FF00::1/64 - call it running on WAN network 00 of FF. again, via dhcp or whatever they're using for ipv6 now (I've...
