    So I can just wait it out but if my ISP changes the IP, I'll need to do a bit more work to get it back. In the meantime, I need to look into an alternative and then just re-direct all the other clients to a better DDNS.

    In other words you'd need to change some deep coding to be compatible? After further research, it looks as the biggest advantage for me is using OpenVPN but isn't that available in the AsusWRT f/w to a limited extent or am I wrong?
