    Beta 374.501

    Did you clear the nvRam?

    RT-AC68U and PS4 (PSN) downloads

NAT type 2 is correct as you have a router connected. Do yourself a favor a get a long ethernet cable as it will be much more efficient and effective than wifi.
  3. Find the Door

    Anyway this can be implemented?

I have my PS4 that's hardwired set as highest, and pretty just everything else low except for DNS etc.

    Anyway this can be implemented?

On the automatic page I do that, however when I test I consistently am still getting my full 100% download speed instead of the 85% My upload seems to get capped, but my download always fully saturates.
  5. Find the Door

    Anyway this can be implemented?

Do you mean inputting your correct information on the automatic page, and then selecting 85% max on the priorities/rule pages?

VLAN or how to isolate one LAN interface from others

Can you allocate a specific amount of bandwidth with a Vlan to my wired device?

    Anyway this can be implemented?

I noticed you said that you agree with Toastmans assessment of QoS. I read his rundown here: http://www.linksysinfo.org/index.php?threads/qos-tutorial.68795/ Here he says you must limit your bandwidth to 85% of what your connection is capable of and must ensure that your inbound limit never...
  8. Find the Door

    Anyway this can be implemented?

Do you know of any firmware that does indeed support it? Is it even a possibility?
  9. Find the Door

    Anyway this can be implemented?

It'd prove extremely useful to gamers who are on a congested cable line like myself. http://forums.smallnetbuilder.com/showthread.php?p=94292#post94292

VLAN or how to isolate one LAN interface from others

I'm curious about how to go about setting up a Vlan as well to separate my bandwidth allocation of ethernet and wireless.

    New firmware - RT-ac68u - Version 3.0.0.4.374.454

I would wait - I experienced the same slow down discussed here over both bands. I've since rolled back and haven't had the same issues.

Hard-capping WiFi speeds through QoS [372.31 FW]

For the record I try to set it at a lower rate yet every time I test it when enabled - it gives me a result that's even faster than what I get otherwise. Example QoS off I get 57 down & 11 QoS enabled I still get the same speeds if not more. I'd like it to cap off to whatever I restrict...

Hard-capping WiFi speeds through QoS [372.31 FW]

I too suffer from the same issue regarding QoS. I'd greatly appreciate it if this was implemented for the AC68R/U I could really use it as a preventive measure to avoid bufferbloat. I game a ton, so whenever my connection is fully saturated I drop packets. To avoid this I'd like to...

    New firmware - RT-ac68u - Version 3.0.0.4.374.454

That's why I said "prior to that." I'm well aware.

new router linksys Asus or Airport extreme

Merry Christmas to you and your family as well.

new router linksys Asus or Airport extreme

    You'll be happy

new router linksys Asus or Airport extreme

For customization, and feature set alone, yes. When you factor in things like post release support too it's no brainer. Performance is similar.
  18. Find the Door

new router linksys Asus or Airport extreme

Spend the extra money to grab the 68U Asus... Had nothing but trouble with the 66U. Huge difference since upgrading - a real premium router.
  19. Find the Door

    New firmware - RT-ac68u - Version 3.0.0.4.374.454

Same here, no issues since I purchased. I just recently enabled QoS, but prior to that had zero issues.
