    AFAIK AiProtection works on Merlin. My builds are 100% Merlin builds. Where I can I just unleash some extra model-specific features (eg: repeater for DSL routers).

    @sl4fko thanks a lot! So if I got it right the setup was: - AX58U as master - AC56U v3 as child and AX58U had the lastest merlin firmware. Am I correct?

    hi, yes the problem is clear and unfortunately known. This issue has not been introduced now but it has been there since a few releases AFAIK. The problem is only in the setup.     @PT25 I have to be honest I have not digged into this problem yet but usually AiMesh is a black box. I have not tested backhaul as child node on the DSL-AC68U so honestly I dunno if that works. You can defintely try that if you wanna to and report back.

    @PT25 do you have plans to make the DSL-AC68U a slave or a master? If master. no WAN needed. if slave. I have not tested this :D

    @Pegasus9 eth backhaul is required only during the setup.When you move the routers far apart you will see they connnect but the link can be bad if too far.. but that's not a firmware or AiMesh issue and nothing I can do for that.

    @eng1970 the block comes from latest asus's code that we merged last December. This means that Optus branded Asus routers soon won't allow you to flash custom firmware from the web UI.

    @hong88 DSL-AX5400 should works on optus. BUT please wait for the next beta 4 before testing it. The next beta3 is gonna come maybe today. I have seen that latest optus DSL-AX5400 doesn't manually allow to upload firmware to the router. For this reason you may need to side flash it with Asus...

    @eng1970 I have fixed the problem, but I am wondering now how you managed to install Merlin in the first place if upgrading was disabled in the stock firmware too.. or a lest it should be there in the latest firmwares...

    As for now I think we are still on track with this and my plan has not changed. the stable should be rolled out by the end of Jan. Thanks for testing the firmware and please send me also feedback on what works and what doesn't..
