In the event log of Windows 10: The network card is configured with all default settings, obtaining the address and Primary Domain Suffix from DHCP on the router, and has the option "register this connection's address in DNS" enabled, which is the default setting. Since the DNS server at...

Does anybody know - will TrendMicro protection still be updated after end of support?

    RT-AC68 future

I think, the following announcement means exactly that? 386.13 (7-Apr-2024) - NOTE: all the models supported by Asuswrt-Merlin on the 386_xx series are now officialy on Asus' End of Life list, which means unless there are new major security issues, no new updates...

Mesh node losing connection every now and then

Thanks; can you tell - with full reset, can I save and then restore the settings, or I have to re-enter everything by hand?

Mesh node losing connection every now and then

Main router and aimesh node. Connected wirelessly. Loses connection = clients connected to the node lose connection to internet, in fact even to the main router. Ping fails.

Mesh node losing connection every now and then

I have mesh network, both main AP and the node being AC-68P. The node every now and then (1-2 times per hour usually) apparently loses connection to AP, which is manifested by the clients currently connected to the node losing internet. This lasts for 15-20 seconds, then it's restored. The AP...

Two VPN connections from home network at the same time -> problems

Sophos admitted that it's their problem. https://docs.sophos.com/support/kil/index.html NC-84171 We can not connect multiple L2TP connections behind the same NAT'd device. Example:- There are 2 Windows clients behind a NAT'ed device over which the clients are connecting to XG using L2TPoIPSec...

DNS server vs DNS-over TLS server list

Can someone explain the relation between the choice of DNS servers and "DNS-over-TLS server list" in WAN settings? Do both have to be specified? For example, if I choose Quad9 DNS servers, what should I specify in DNS-over-TLS server list, if anything? How it all works if I specify different...

Two VPN connections from home network at the same time -> problems

Here's one piece of information that may be related. I opened support ticket with Sophos, the maker of our firewall, and they collected diagnostic logs, and noticed the following in the log of L2TP VPN when this was taking place xl2tpd[10330]: check_control: Received out of order control packet...

Two VPN connections from home network at the same time -> problems

No, they did not (because it's actually myself). And the connection does get established successfully, no denials, but then it freezes.

Two VPN connections from home network at the same time -> problems

I noticed that if I connect by VPN (L2TP/IPsec with pre-shared key, native Windows 10) to the company network (Sophos device) from the laptop; then do the same from the desktop PC; then on the desktop initiate remote desktop connection to my work computer, then in 15-20 seconds remote desktop...

    RT-AC68 future

    > or simply not really needed. Comcast's entry-level offering, 75Mbps for $30/month, is enough for 3 simultaneous 4K TV streams. I wonder who ever needs more, and what for.

    RT-AC68 future

I have RT-AC68P, and it satisfies all my needs and then some. But since it's already somewhat outdated model, looking into the future, should I be concerned that in couple of years the support for it may stop, like it did for RT-AC66U ?

    Clearing the log

I go to the page System Log / General Log; there are some records showing; I press the button "Clear" and they disappear. But if I click "Apply", they are back. Isn't "Clear" supposed to actually clear the log?

    Mega-cmd

I ran the script, and it returned arm-v7. SSH to the router and ran rclone, ensured that it's not found, to eliminate the possibility of an old version. In Windows I downloaded "ARMv7 - 32 Bit" for Linux from https://rclone.org/downloads/; extracted rclone and rclone.1 to the network drive...
