Windows 10 losing access to Samba directories

This is different. Network Browser (in fact, "Computer Browser" was the name) used to discover all machines in the network. This is what has been disabled in SMBv2, but you still can access any machine if you know its devicename, by typing \\devicename .

Windows 10 losing access to Samba directories

For the record - after having spent couple more hours, the issue was completely fixed by updating network card driver from the one that comes with Windows, to the one downloaded from Intel. The card is Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I217-V, Intel's driver 20.4.207.0 To FreshJR - using...

Windows 10 losing access to Samba directories

One my Windows 10 desktop computer, I'm experiencing a problem with accessing USB drive connected to the router by Samba protocol. Here's what happens: I browse directories and files on the drive as expected. But if I open a file from there, Windows is losing connection to the directories, and...

    Web History not working

"Me too". This page appears to be completely broken. For me it does show web history, but events are not in chronological order; selecting one client in the dropdown box shows records from others; some of the clients shown in "All Clients" mode are not in the dropdown box......

Backing up USB drive to Mega cloud storage

For the record, if anybody finds this thread looking for the same: by now meganz-sdk is indeed available from entware-ng. I was able to successfully install it, and scheduled synchronization of a directory from the attached USB drive by putting this into post-mount: export MEGA_EMAIL=(your MEGA...

Certificate is generated for LAN names

If I understand correctly, in the new version of the firmware WAN access is only through HTTPS, no more HTTP, and for that the router generates a certificate. Problem is, at least in my case, it generates it not for the external name that is actually used. I'm using DNSOMATIC that further sends...

Backing up USB drive to Mega cloud storage

Mega gives 50GB, plus it is probably more secure, given how pissed is Kim Dotcom at US government.

    Buying Used Router

On eBay, probably less than elsewhere, especially the sellers. They fully depend on your feedback and will go out of their way to make good. As a seller, I saw there more maliciousness from buyers who, despite your return policy stating that they pay for return shipping, initiate claim with eBay...

Backing up USB drive to Mega cloud storage

Can someone suggest a solution to backup the files from USB-connected storage (serving as household network storage) to Mega cloud storage? It looks like there are some tools already like megacmd , but I don't see it in entware and I'm not savvy enough in Linux to put it to work without it. I...

BR: Checking firmware by the button does not find new version

That worked, but I'd think that "get beta" is supposed to include any new builds including betas.

Checking for new version - confusing results

Firmware's own checking for a new version with "Get Beta Firmware" checked, shows popup "There's new firmware available", but with empty description. "Visit download site" brings up https://www.mediafire.com/folder/ibrl3waz2zpp6/Beta , with " The owner of this folder has not added any files."...

    Traditional QoS: bandwidth settings

Could it be that in Traditional QoS, the settings for download and upload bandwidth are swapped? Also, even assuming that they are indeed swapped, it looks like with the bandwidth specified as 30MBps, the router limits it by a lower value, such as 24MBps. Is this by design?

Warning about running low on free NVRAM

In UI, I see flashing warning in the upper right corner: "Your router is running low on free NVRAM, which might affect its stability. Review nvram-intensive settings such as OpenVPN, or consider doing a factory default reset and reconfiguring. Review System Information now" In System...
