TLS key negotiation failed to occur within 60 seconds

verify server certificate should probably be set to "no". username/pass auth only is also "no" because the ca.crt should have been uploaded as part of the ovpn. what is the setting for extra HMAC authorization? I'm thinking since you have been given a key that that should be set to outgoing (1).

TLS key negotiation failed to occur within 60 seconds

TLS settings are wrong is most likely the problem as I'm sure those ports aren't blocked. :) does Pure VPN have 2 certs and 2 keys in the ovpn file? do they use username/password?

    Fastest Router for VPN?

significantly faster speed is achieved when the openvpn process is on a different core from the kernel processes. dual core does help in that manner.

    Fastest Router for VPN?

my AC68 overclocked to 1200mhz can do close to 60mbit/s. I would imagine the latest routers would be even better.

Need to setup VPN that will only route 192.168.1.x IP range on my RT-AC68U

yes, you can do policy routing with merlin firmware

Country restriction avoidance router VPN advice

with merlin firmware you can do that with any VPN. he has policy routing built in. :)

Country restriction avoidance router VPN advice

wrong, that's guaranteed bandwidth. they are the only VPN provider I know of that guarantees any bandwidth. you're not restricted at all except by your ISP and the route to the VPN server. what do you mean by site profiling?

Country restriction avoidance router VPN advice

I suggest AirVPN. Their configuration generator makes it easy to create and download the ovpn config file for the server you want. After that it's as simple as uploading the ovpn file to the router, saving, and turning the openvpn client on.

    DNSCrypt on Asus-Merlin Variants?

As I wrote above I was speaking only to the desire to use dnscrypt. I wasn't writing about running your own recursive resolver. I agree with you %100 about the futility of true privacy when it comes to a significantly powerful adversary.

    DNSCrypt on Asus-Merlin Variants?

but if it's unencrypted then they can still see what you were asking for. they can target you with advertising, or perhaps see illegal activity. the owner of the DNS may even share data with "others" so better make sure your DNScrypt server is trustworthy (not cisco!) bottom line, I want...

    perfect-privacy on Asus RT-AC68U doesn´t work

yes, since you are running openvpn on the router you would want to download ovpn config files for linux, not windows. if android worked, that's great. you might want to download linux config files to see if they differ from android.

    perfect-privacy on Asus RT-AC68U doesn´t work

PP ovpn files don't already contain all the certs and keys necessary? if they do then you just need to upload, wait a second, then click apply to save. apply to save after any changes.

OpenVPN bandwidth from software client is twice the speed of Router

pretty sure the asus firmware doesn't do L2TP properly. nowhere does it ask for the shared secret. therefore, it's not doing the IPsec encryption, only the L2TP authentication. your data ISN'T encrypted.

OpenVPN Client on Asus RT-AC66U connecting but not routing All through VPN tunnel.

look at the system log for information. it sounds as though openvpn is NOT connecting.

    OpenVPN policy routing guide?

all traffic will makes sure all traffic goes through the VPN. "no" means the openvpn client coding will not do anything special to ensure all traffic goes through the VPN. however, the routes pulled from the VPN server (you can't control this if it's a VPN provider. you could control it if...

CPU Core Usage with OpenVPN Client?

With openvpn traffic there are kernel processes that take up quite a few clock cycles and of course the openvpn process. The Kernel processes take place on core 0 (1). I believe stock Asus firmware has openvpn client 1 using core 0 (1) and openvpn client 2 using core 1 (2). But Merlin...

How to disable Windows 10 tracking using ipset + Entware

I added the other hardcoded IPs you list here into win10tracking and reran the script but they weren't blocked. Why? I then did it exactly as you've written here (except in entware folder, not optware) and they were blocked. Does that mean the original setup didn't block any of the hardcoded...

How to disable Windows 10 tracking using ipset + Entware

at first I missed that I have to install ipset-dns. then it dawned on me why we must have entware installed already. perhaps you missed that too?

    OpenVPN policy routing guide?

well, determining a cause is progress. I hope Merlin is seeing this.
