    Here... Asus firmware But really, Merlin out of the box=Asus stock FW, if you're not using the additional features there's still the benefit of tweaks it provides and does no harm. If anything upgrade to 386 branch Merlin 386.3_2

    I went dirty from 42 to 50 and got burned for not backing up my jffs and needed to reformat it.... sigh Other than PEBKAC not backing up jffs, upgrade with reformat of jffs and A1 as usual! Might not need to reset/reconfigure.....but see reply above ^

    If IoT is on the secondary router and has its own DHCP (subnet) and you need some internet access its easier IMO, re-enable internet access and just use a firewall-start script and create rules to block access except to mail servers on the secondary router... these rules rule block 'calling...

    As long as the USB is never inaccessible it should be fine. If ever it goes to log and it cant read those files (usb not mounted) it just wont display any temps in the logging for ath/atl/and alltime-avg, and if run manually from the command line it will spew a bunch of file creation errors but...

    I run 604800 for DHCP and 86400 for Group Key Everything is a security risk, you need to weigh the benefit vs risk. Personally Im not too concerned

    WPA Key and/or DHCP renegotiation, try setting your DHCP lease time to 86400+ and if you're up for it you can raise the WPA Key time as well.

    Out of my realm, but would it have anything to do with the OP running cascaded routers and having static routes and the firewall is disabled on router 2? I dont know the affect of firewall enabled/disabled on VPN generated rules.

    Ya my work around only logged what I explicitly coded for (date/time/PID/name) If you wouldn't mind trying it out again fresh, would put my mind at ease lol I reverted the commits on github, please delete tempmon.sh from your router and reinstall and let us know.

    I see in another thread you were playing with filters, what's the chances you were trying tempmon at the same time and maybe accidentally killed syslogd or had a failed restart of scribe?

    I guess the bigger issue for you would be that technically any other scripts (maybe more?) that rely on the logger command should also fail to log. First test would be from an ssh prompt try logger -t testing "test log message 123" And see if it appears in your log
