Using smart connect in access point mode causing DHCP errors

I have a ROG GT-AC5300 set up as an access point. It used to be my primary router but I needed a Fortigate 60E installed to work from home. Since then I have had chronic issues with WiFi clients getting 169.254.x.x which is a DHCP error. I decided to reset the 5300 using the initialize command...

ASUS ROG AC5300 have dhcp relay?

Do I only need to hold the reset button down for 5 sec for a factory default? I’ve been holding it down for 20+ secs.

ASUS ROG AC5300 have dhcp relay?

I have rebooted the router but not a hard reset. I’ll do that tonight and see if that solves the issue. I’m currently on the latest firmware which is 3.0.0.4.384.32799.

ASUS ROG AC5300 have dhcp relay?

This might be a stupid question. I thought if a router can be set to access point mode doesn’t that mean it automatically relays all dhcp requests to the dhcp server on the network? I have a fortigate 60e sitting in front of my ASUS 5300 set in AP mode. I need the fortigate to work at home...

    Anyone using link aggregation?

Is that different from saving and restoring the settings under the Administration tab?

    Anyone using link aggregation?

I performed a hard reset (hold reset button down for 30 sec) of my 5300. Other devices on my network were having intermittent loss of internet connectivity on WiFi and ethernet. After the reset everything has worked fine including the link aggregation. Took a hour setting everything up the way I...

    Anyone using link aggregation?

Unfortunately no. All my PCs only have one NIC and the 5300 is the only router/switch with LACP functionality. I looked through the Intel team tab but I don't see any additional settings for 802.3ad beyond picking it. I'll play around with it and see if the stability improves.

    Anyone using link aggregation?

I have a ROG 5300. I’m using link aggregation with a built in Ethernet port and an add on Ethernet card. When it works it works great. Problem is I’m having intermittent loss on internet access of that PC (intranet is always up). Wondering if it’s an issue with using two different Intel NICs or...

    RT-AC5300 and RT-AC68U New Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.384.21140

I use mine to connect POE security cameras to my main router in locations where I don't have a hardwired port available. I could use it as an Aimesh node but I don't need the additional WiFi coverage and would rather keep the connection only for the cams.

Is it possible for media bridge to connect only to router instead of Aimesh node?

I have several media bridges constantly streaming video for several IP cameras. I would like the media bridge to connect only to the router instead of a closer Aimesh node.

    AiMesh: RT-AC68W & RT-AC68U

Try resetting the Ac68u (hold reset button down for 20 seconds) and then access the 68u by wifi with a smartphone/tablet/laptop. Set up the AC68u to work as a node and see if it works. I had alot of trouble trying to set up a AC68u node through the router (5300). I could see the node and it...

AIMESH FIRMWARE UPDATES - MY PROBLEMS

I don't know why you would spend this much on routers for a cloud cam like Ring. Security cams that run on batteries like Ring/Arlo are crippled compared to POE cameras. They are better then nothing but are for people who have very little tech skill. I use Blue Iris in conjunction with...
