ASUS ROG AC5300 have dhcp relay?

This might be a stupid question. I thought if a router can be set to access point mode doesn’t that mean it automatically relays all dhcp requests to the dhcp server on the network?

I have a fortigate 60e sitting in front of my ASUS 5300 set in AP mode. I need the fortigate to work at home. Problem is WiFi clients are intermittently getting 169.254.x.x which I’ve been told is what devices assign themselves when they can’t reach the dhcp server which is the fortigate.

Wired clients work just fine.

The 5300 is set to AP mode and I have assigned the fortigate as the gateway.

Is there a way to turn on dhcp relay on the 5300?

The ASUS as wired AP should permit wireless clients to reach the Fortigate router/DHCP server, as it appears to do for wired clients.

Maybe the issue is with the 5300 wireless connections. Have you tried a reset and reconfigure of the 5300 AP? What firmware is it running?

I have rebooted the router but not a hard reset. I’ll do that tonight and see if that solves the issue. I’m currently on the latest firmware which is 3.0.0.4.384.32799.
