    Unofficial Build 380.58

It's sad times indeed, I hope you get better Eric "RMerlin"! Your contribution will be sorely missed by the lot of us.

    [How-To] Link Aggregation/LACP on RT-AC68U/W/R/P

I can't seem to get this working between my Asus RT-AC68U and my Cisco SG300 switch. According to the Web UI of the SG300 Link Aggregation (LACP) should be active with one port as active and the other as standby. But I get no communication between the router and the switch and running cat...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

Having upnp working correctly, or manually forwarding the ports is the same as your no router / dmz scenario. If you have things configured correctly in your router you should be able to see Open/NAT 1 on the Xbox One and in game like Rainbow Six Siege. Moderate / NAT 2 simply means that you...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

That's not true. If all ports are being forwarded correctly (through upnp or manually) you should see Open NAT on the Xbox One.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

Would it be possible to port the Link Aggregation / 802.3ad portion from the Asus RT-AC5300 / RT-AC88U to other models like the RT-AC68U? From what I have gathered there is no obvious reason in terms of hardware for this function to not be available through the GUI on models like RT-AC3100...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

I guess I'll just run without QoS, having it disabled with 378.57 gives me this:

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

Hmm, going from 378.56_2 to 378.57 on my Asus RT-AC68U and using this new auto QoS gives me F-rating on DSLReports SpeedTest in terms of buffer bloat compared to A from 378.56_2.

    RT-AC3100

But the firmware seems to have issues with getting upnp to work if you have NAT Acceleration enabled / automatic. Me and my buddy are both running the Asus RT-AC68U and I'm running Merlin 378.56_2 and he is running the latest official one from Asus and we both struggled with Moderate and Strict...

    ASUS RT-AC5300

PfSense is no option as it's a real headache in terms of port mapping / forwarding, reliable upnp / nat-pmp and gaming consoles and whatnot. I did have a dedicated pfSense Server before I got my Asus RT-AC66U a few months after it's release and I haven't looked back. PfSense is awesome and all...

    ASUS RT-AC5300

How does this one perform compared to the RT-AC3200? The Smart Connect on the RT-AC3200 has been horrible, to say the least. It's not even close to being anything remotely close to stable in terms of wireless performance. Disabling Smart Connect all together helps out a lot, as the wireless...

[Preview] 380.57 alpha test builds for all models

Here is the system log after my RT-AC3200 has booted, I'm now on the oldest of the official Asus firmware on a factory reset config; https://sprend.com/download.htm?C=d9524c131eb04c00bd1aaf8da177f8dc

[Preview] 380.57 alpha test builds for all models

This did not help. It seems like my RT-AC3200 is not able to handle any connection whatsoever. When connecting cable to the WAN port its reported as a 10mbit connection in the webui and it keeps telling me its disconnected and running the Internet Connection wizard only claim there is no...

[Preview] 380.57 alpha test builds for all models

I will leave it overnight with the ISP modem turned off and see if there is any change in the morning. Everything was working, but right after upgrading to 57 Alpha 3 there was no Internet connection and it was reported as disconnected and doing the whole Internet setup it kept claiming there...

[Preview] 380.57 alpha test builds for all models

Something went wrong on my RT-AC3200. After the update I got no Internet connection and the router claims that WAN is diconnected. Rebooting and factory default settings don't help. Tried to revert back to 56_2 but its still the same.. My RT-AC68 works.

    Google OnHub Announced & Reviewed

I do think "most people" require ease of use and performance more than anything else. And Google's approach at trying to bring routers that people would actually place within viewing range is not a terrible bad idea as many people tend to store their wireless routers in places that are less than...

    Google OnHub Announced & Reviewed

New version already. What gives? Doesn't sound like there will be any difference between the models besides this "wave" feature which seems rather pointless. Same AC-1900 specifications, same completely locked-down and in-accessible software/firmware, seems like the same "unique" antenna...

    [Maylyn - Networking] ASUS RT-AC88U

What makes some models have this feature while others don't? This shouldn't have anything to do with hardware.

    [Maylyn - Networking] ASUS RT-AC88U

"Real" successor to the RT-AC87? More like the "real" successor to RT-AC68, the RT-AC87 gave me nothing but trouble with its 5.0GHz.

    [Maylyn - Networking] ASUS RT-AC88U

What is all this Ping Accelerator, WTFast stuff all about? Sounds like gimmick to me? This looks just like the thing I want instead of this RT-AC3200 and its Smart Connect features that causes more harm than anything else.

    ASUS RT-AC5300

Do we have any release date on this puppy? And will we get something like a Asus RT-AC88U / AC2600 in the same time period, being a RT-AC87U featuring Broadcom MU-MIMO chipset instead of Quantenna? Smart Connect has yet to impress me on the RT-AC3200. I do love the concept, but the utilisation...
