FYI..For those RT-AC68U users experiencing the 2.4 connectivity issue, hggomes has released a version of his firmware with the old drivers which seems to take care of this issue until ASUS fix the root cause. I flashed RMerlin's release on my RT-AC68P with no issues however a friends RT-AC68U experieinced the issue (Factory default was performed on both routers). hggomes release with the old drivers resolved the issue on the 68U.

merlin alrdy said why. if you still ignore his caution for reset factory for this firmware if you use a ac68u router, then any issues is at your own discretion.

AC68U - after upgrading to the latest version, my HP ENVY 5530 can't obtain IP from DHCP.
Even if I enter the IP manually on the printer, it is still not recognised by the router/laptop.

Downgrading the firmware fixed the issue.

Only main problem is on 380.57.1_HGG-Final is if you set the Custom traiffic to a USB3 or 2 it will not recover, you will have to reset with WPS key to recover!! or my 68u will not (CPU ARMv7 rev 0)

Just moved the custom traffic folder on my N66U router from USB to SDCard without problems...

Have envy 5530 too and have no issue. I configured the envy to have static ip. From router assigned the static ip to printer'so MAC. Rebooted router and printer.

I think you should have cleared the Wifi entry in your Envy. This is not a firmware related issue.
And a factory reset on the router when moving from 357.x to 380.x

Anyone else having problems with DLNA Server playback on mp4 videos with an 852X480 frame size not playing back? Every other frame size seem to work flawlessly.
I have RT-AC3200_380.57_0.trx installed and otherwise running flawlessly!!

Would it be possible to port the Link Aggregation / 802.3ad portion from the Asus RT-AC5300 / RT-AC88U to other models like the RT-AC68U? From what I have gathered there is no obvious reason in terms of hardware for this function to not be available through the GUI on models like RT-AC3100, RT-AC87 and RT-AC68 as the Broadcom SoC has been supporting 802.3ad all along and there shouldn't really be any reason for why the switches in all these models can't handle it.

From what I have gathered from the forum one is actually able to manually add link aggregation / 802.3ad using ssh and scripts to all Asus Broadcom ARM based devices? Would be much easier for everyone to have it directly in the GUI like what Asus have added for the RT-AC5300 and RT-AC88 instead of relying on ssh and custom scripts.

In this firmware samba (share) not worked after router restart. Same bug already was in old fws... helps only service restart in web. But it's not good solution.

I'm struggling to get an Open NAT on the Xbox One tonight on this firmware using UPnP, which I always use. It's stuck at Strict. Never had this problem on my N66U running the john9527 fork.

open nat is same as no nat to get that you have connect to modem directly, if you behind router you gona have nat2, nat3 is strick which means something is wrong atlest this from what i seen on my end and from what i read

I can see a bunch of ports in the system log that the Xbox One needs assigned to a different IP address, so I think this is the problem, because the X1 can't use them. I never experienced this on the N66U and haven't changed the way I use my devices.

Is there a way to clear UPnP ports without having to power cycle the router?

Marlin does this 380.57 code release for RT-AC87U splits openvpn code to second core and is that on first processor or second. I'm assuming first as second one been designated to 5ghz wifi only. I'm looking to purchase this beast in hope it can improve my openvpn speeds by 50%-100% by dedicating 100% cpu core power to one care only. Is that correct? That would be sweet. Is firmware on this model mature already? Thank you in advance. i have 66u and i'm only getting 10-12mbps and i just found it i need cpu power lol.

That's not true. If all ports are being forwarded correctly (through upnp or manually) you should see Open NAT on the Xbox One.

Merlin's release is based on: 380_1031 GPL

If I look on Asus website they are up to: Firmware version 3.0.0.4.380.1354

Does that mean Merlin's firmware is a little outdated already?

(Not trying to point fingers I know he is busy, just trying to understand how the releases work)
I'm just curious as I just got a AC88U and there seems to be some good fixes for it in the latest firmwares by Asus.

I too have just purchased an AC88U and updated it to the latest ASUS FW (3.0.0.4.380.1354)

Would flashing to Merlin 380.57 be detrimental and re-introduce some bugs that had been squashed in the latest ASUS release?
