    In Danmark the sale is still 36%, but not in Norway, I will ask why.... Edit: In Sweden its at 21% sale, so no point in asking why Norway changed it....good for the Danes... Edit 2: In Danmark, many stores have that router for about 24% sale.

    Well that sucked! Suddenly last night, they reduced the sale from 36% to 24%, and no I had not made the buy. At 36% sale, it was on sale for less then 200 $, now its at 250$. The sale as of NOW: Asus RT-AX88U Nordic - 250$ (24% sale) <- what I wanted to buy at 36% sale Asus ROG Rapture...

    I feel that my question kinda derailed the thread; I simply wanted to know if the Asus RT-AX88U Nordic Router (on 36% sale) was a good buy, or if there were better ones (for Merlin firmware) :)

    Just a quick question, to make sure I do not make a bad buy: The Asus RT-AX88U Nordic Router is a good future proof buy right? Both for Merlin/John fork and in general correct? Edit: Or is one of the other Asus routers better?

    Good point! But with these things its a bit of psychology; installing firmware on the router and set it up again, is something I do not have much time to do. So when I do it, I do not want to update to an already old firmware. But yes, the Asus alternative is already older so yeah...

    Hi If I buy one of the new gen Asus routers like RT-AC86U, GT-AC5300 or RT-AX88U (I guess these are the best ones around now?), can I use 2 old Asus RT-AC56U as repeaters? And will they be a good option as repeaters? Or is it much better to get new model pure repeaters?

    What I meant is that I updated it right after I got it in september, so firmware is from before that time. Yeah, I feared a full reset was advised. My fear is I mess something up; it if works do not fix it... But problem is current firmware got really bad wifi signal, so I was thinking about...

Not sure if that means big update or not, afraid so (not eager to set it up again, if it works, do not mess with it hehehe)...     How do I update the firmware the best way? Is there a need to do a reset and reconfigure the router after update? And if so, can I backup the settings and restore them after reset?
