[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

In Danmark the sale is still 36%, but not in Norway, I will ask why.... Edit: In Sweden its at 21% sale, so no point in asking why Norway changed it....good for the Danes... Edit 2: In Danmark, many stores have that router for about 24% sale.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

Ok, thanks to both of you! Then the Asus RT-AX88U Nordic is still the top pick, just a bit angry on the change of the sale....

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

Well that sucked! Suddenly last night, they reduced the sale from 36% to 24%, and no I had not made the buy. At 36% sale, it was on sale for less then 200 $, now its at 250$. The sale as of NOW: Asus RT-AX88U Nordic - 250$ (24% sale) <- what I wanted to buy at 36% sale Asus ROG Rapture...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

I feel that my question kinda derailed the thread; I simply wanted to know if the Asus RT-AX88U Nordic Router (on 36% sale) was a good buy, or if there were better ones (for Merlin firmware) :)

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

Ok, didnt know Johns fork didnt support it, but guess its not a problem as long as Merlin supports it. I cannot see that the AX92U or the 1100 or what it is called, is better for me. I just want to make sure that the Asus RT-AX88U Nordic is a good future proof router, for custom firmware and...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

Just a quick question, to make sure I do not make a bad buy: The Asus RT-AX88U Nordic Router is a good future proof buy right? Both for Merlin/John fork and in general correct? Edit: Or is one of the other Asus routers better?

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Well, I am wondering what is added/removed/fixed compared to the standard Asus firmwave. I do not see that being specified.

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Is there a easily readable list of what features this firmware have in addition (new/different features) to the Asus firmware? Edit: Or is it more or less the same as other Merlin? https://www.asuswrt-merlin.net/features

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

Good point! But with these things its a bit of psychology; installing firmware on the router and set it up again, is something I do not have much time to do. So when I do it, I do not want to update to an already old firmware. But yes, the Asus alternative is already older so yeah...

I am not aware what happened, heard about it after my comments.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

Thanka! I have looked into it, its an alternative if I do not buy a new router. But it is a little bit strange John hasnt been active here since April....

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

ahhh doh! It is now a legacy router for Merlin? So just the old version of Merlin works? Not good...need to think what I should do. Or look for a sale on the AX88U...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

I am currently running an older version of Asus firmware on my Asus AC56U. Going from a normal Asus firmware to Merlin, I have to reconfigure my router correct? Is there a way to see what I have changed from the default settings for my router (pretty sure there isnt)? Its a long time since I set...

Asus RT-AC56U as repeaters for new gen Asus routers

Yeah, I may have mixed up the features here. I am guessing Access Point is what I originally was thinking about. I am just not pro in the jargon here ;) I can just check how coverage is with just the router, and if its not at max at a location I can set a RT-AC56U as an access point. Was just...

Asus RT-AC56U as repeaters for new gen Asus routers

Ok thanks! Maybe just use a strong router then, with good antennas and range/quality. Anything else I can use spare RT-AC56Us for? PS! Thanks for what you do for Asus routers Merlin!!

Asus RT-AC56U as repeaters for new gen Asus routers

Hi If I buy one of the new gen Asus routers like RT-AC86U, GT-AC5300 or RT-AX88U (I guess these are the best ones around now?), can I use 2 old Asus RT-AC56U as repeaters? And will they be a good option as repeaters? Or is it much better to get new model pure repeaters?

    ASUS RT-AC56U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.5656

What I meant is that I updated it right after I got it in september, so firmware is from before that time. Yeah, I feared a full reset was advised. My fear is I mess something up; it if works do not fix it... But problem is current firmware got really bad wifi signal, so I was thinking about...

    ASUS RT-AC56U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.5656

The firmware were updated when it was new, so the firmware is from September 2013. Not sure if that means big update or not, afraid so (not eager to set it up again, if it works, do not mess with it hehehe)... But the wifi signal is bad now, actually pretty bad, so it is needed to get a newer...

    ASUS RT-AC56U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.5656

How do I update the firmware the best way? Is there a need to do a reset and reconfigure the router after update? And if so, can I backup the settings and restore them after reset?
