    It works. Thank you,

Using Apple TV with NordVPN / Merlin

Thank you. I understand the concept - using iOS to tun the VPN on or off. But two questions (and please forgive my ignorance): 1) How do I send the ssh commands via iOS? Do I need to SSH into my ASUS router at 192.168.1.1 first to get the commands to the VPN? Also, is there a specific app...

Using Apple TV with NordVPN / Merlin

I have set-up NordVPN on Merlin and used Director to send my Apple TV's internet through the VPN. This is great for spoofing location on Apple TV apps that may restrict local content, but problematic for apps like YouTubeTV that I want to see our location, Is there an easy way to toggle the...

Any Downside To Enabling Multi-User MIMO and OFDMA/802.11ax MU-MIMO?

DOnt get me wrong - it works sometimes on Apple devices - not consistently. After an hour or so, the iPad finally switched APs.

Any Downside To Enabling Multi-User MIMO and OFDMA/802.11ax MU-MIMO?

Thanks. That’s basically the route I took. I have one problematic room on the wing of my house. The wing has two bedrooms and a bath in between. I put an AP in the nearer bedroom room and it gives coverage to center of house / stairs and sometimes the far room. RSSI values on 5gHz in the far...

Any Downside To Enabling Multi-User MIMO and OFDMA/802.11ax MU-MIMO?

Isn't there also a question of speed? From my experience, the placement necessary to create the overlapping circles for 2.4 WiFi will leave holes in 5 gHz coverage. And similarly, getting good 5gHz coverage, which has been my goal, leaves lots of overlapping 2.4 zones.

Any Downside To Enabling Multi-User MIMO and OFDMA/802.11ax MU-MIMO?

Thank you, but I will stick with things set up as they are now. I have MU-MIMO and OFDMA set on and nobody is complaining. It makes sense to me that if all devices are being routed on channel 100 (which, based on the GT-AX6000 web pages, seems to be what the router and nodes are doing), I...

Any Downside To Enabling Multi-User MIMO and OFDMA/802.11ax MU-MIMO?

Then why would the slowdown be toggled by changing the MU-MIMO and OFDMA setting. I demonstrated cause and effect, even if I dont have the perfect set pot speed tests to prove it. Also, the wired devices were not impacted by congestion, only the wireless ones. Demonstrated with same speedtest.

Any Downside To Enabling Multi-User MIMO and OFDMA/802.11ax MU-MIMO?

When things work well, I get speeds 400-700 on iPhone. When there is what I believe to be congestion, speeds drop to 150 or less. Measured from laptops or from iPhone using Speedtest

Any Downside To Enabling Multi-User MIMO and OFDMA/802.11ax MU-MIMO?

I am pretty sure it was not my 1G WAN (fiber) that caused the congestion. I have three notes plus one router and in theory, one laptop was on the router directly and two were on different nodes. I was doing speed tests in different zones using my iPhone. And I had looked at the transmission...

Any Downside To Enabling Multi-User MIMO and OFDMA/802.11ax MU-MIMO?

It's not clear to me what "congested" means. I have many routers but 120 total devices on my network. Maybe 16 are 5gHz while 80 or so are 2.4gHz. The 5gHz devices are phones, iPads and laptops nd are my major data users (along with one wireless Apple TV, while thmye other 4 Apple TV devices...

Any Downside To Enabling Multi-User MIMO and OFDMA/802.11ax MU-MIMO?

Hijacking another threat a bit, but I had experience today with GT-AX6000 router and 3 AI Mesh AX92u nodes. Many of my users saw their 5gHz speeds decline from 500 +/- to <150. I started tinkering with settings and setting "OFDMA/802.11ax MU-MIMO"to DL/UL OFDMA+MU-MIMO and set "MIMO" to...

Trying to understand slow WiFi speeds - GT-AX6000 with 3 AX92U nodes

Today many of my users experienced slower wifi speeds and drops on their video calls. I changed the setting of OFDMA/802.11ax MU-MIMO to DL/UL OFDMA+MU-MIMO. And set MIMO to disable. That restored speeds on Wifi 6 clients. I have no idea what I actually did, but none of my WiFI 6 devices...

dual-band main node with tri-band mesh nodes

I seem to have it working. I believe the AX6000 treats the two 5gHz bands as one combined band (which is it) and the 92Us do there own thing.

dual-band main node with tri-band mesh nodes

I have been working with GT-AX6000 router and three AX92U for about a week now. I have the same type of issue you describe after uploading the config from the old AX92U to the GT-AX6000. I am using Merlin and not stock firmware however. I have 125+ devices on my network to deal with - lots...

Trying to understand slow WiFi speeds - GT-AX6000 with 3 AX92U nodes

I realize I am responding to my own posts, but I just changed modulation scheme (on the wireless/professional tab of the GT-AX6000) to MCS 11 nitroQAM 1024QAM. That seems to have sped up the WiFi 6 to proper speeds.

Trying to understand slow WiFi speeds - GT-AX6000 with 3 AX92U nodes

One more note. I changed the unit causing slowness issues to AP mode (from Mesh node). Used same SSID as the rest of the house. Issue remained on downloads only (so I had slow downloads but fast uploads using speedtest, in the magnitude of 150/700). Then I changed the SSID of the 5gHz-2 band...

Adding some screenshots of setting, which are pretty much the same for all three nodes.

Trying to understand slow WiFi speeds - GT-AX6000 with 3 AX92U nodes

I recently set up a new GT-AX6000 as a base router and converted one of my AX92U units from router to node. Previously I had run with an AX92U as router and two AX92U nodes. The two nodes (that had been nodes before) and the main GT-AX6000 seems to work and give me high speeds (over 800 Mbps...
