    VPNMON VPNMON-R2 v2.0 -Jul 10, 2022- Monitor your VPN connection's Health (Thread locked/closed)

I decided to look at the source of your script. I thought the script was going to ask me what options I wanted. I see now that I have to edit the script file to get to set the options that I want, like disable Nord, set the ping address, and set the rotate time. I should have looked at that...

    VPNMON VPNMON-R2 v2.0 -Jul 10, 2022- Monitor your VPN connection's Health (Thread locked/closed)

OK, that did not go well. First, I do not have NordVPN, I have PIA. So it keep trying to get stats as if I was connected to Nord. Other messages also said NordVPN, so kind of disconcerting for a PIA user. See attached screen shoot. Second, it disabled all the connected VPN clients, but but...

    VPNMON VPNMON-R2 v2.0 -Jul 10, 2022- Monitor your VPN connection's Health (Thread locked/closed)

This is exactly what I was looking to get answered. Thanks, I'll try it to see how it works.

    VPNMON VPNMON-R2 v2.0 -Jul 10, 2022- Monitor your VPN connection's Health (Thread locked/closed)

Not really. VPN Director tells specific IP addrs from my local network to use VPN1. That will not change if I randomize the VPN connections, which BTW, I'd like to do. Unless your randomizing functionality changes the server for VPN1, or you change the settings of Director, then I'm not sure...

    VPNMON VPNMON-R2 v2.0 -Jul 10, 2022- Monitor your VPN connection's Health (Thread locked/closed)

How does this work with VPN Director, particularly if you randomize the connections?

vnStat [Release] vnStat-on-Merlin - UI, CLI and email - data use and data limit monitoring - R1 and R2

Well, if I restore right after I do the reinstall, then no, I would not need the merge. But if I wait a day or 2 or more, then I would like to merge to have as much of the historical data combined with the recent data as possible.

vnStat [Release] vnStat-on-Merlin - UI, CLI and email - data use and data limit monitoring - R1 and R2

Yes, it takes a scripting expert to do these tasks. Thanks. I'll try a variation. Possibly Jack would consider making this a part of vnStat. But other than doing the backup, I would still need a script to get the data merged.

vnStat [Release] vnStat-on-Merlin - UI, CLI and email - data use and data limit monitoring - R1 and R2

Suggestion: Provide the means to have nsrum add a backup of the contents of your data file location. And, provide a way to merge old data into the current Sqlite data set. This would solve the problem of preserving and restoring data that would be lost if you need to redo your Merlin...

    vnStat Location of Data Files

I think I found it at /opt/var/lib/vnstat/. For me there is nothing vnstat related at /opt/etc/vnstat.conf. But I just realized that since I have vnstat save its files on USB, that location is not backed up by nsrum, so I lost my old data files. But even if I did have them, it seems I would...

    vnStat Location of Data Files

Where does vnStat keep its data files, both in JFFS mode and in USB mode? I reset my router to factory defaults and reloaded all the scripts, so I'd like to retain my previous data. Also, is there any way to merge the new data with the old data?

YazDHCP Backup and Restore using nsrum

If I do a restore of a router configuration, can I just replace that file, and YazDHCP will pick it up and correctly handle the IP assignments? Or, maybe save and restore that whole sub-dir? Update: JFFS is backed up by nsrum, that includes the YazDHCP.d dir, so I do not need to do anything...

YazDHCP Backup and Restore using nsrum

For the nsrum script, what do I need to do to save and restore DHCP IP assignments and device names that are maintained by YazDHCP? It does not appear that the stock script handles it.

    Skynet Skynet Display Bug?

Thanks, I'll look into doing that.

    Skynet Skynet Display Bug?

In trying to get some websites whitelisted, I ran into this. When it rejects adding in some IP addresses because they are already there, it displays the IP address of pixelserv-tls. See screen capture.

Tutorial How to monitor DNS traffic in real-time

Thanks to all for your comments. My unbound is running on the router not on another device, not going thru a VPN tunnel, and configured to not use DoT as recommended by the unbound guys. I'm also relived to see that others with a similar config are also seeing lots of red, so I'll consider...

Tutorial How to monitor DNS traffic in real-time

Please comment on this screen shot of running dns-monitor. It's a lot of red but I suspect all the accesses are for unbound which means it is probably OK but I'm not sure. Do I need to worry about these DNS leaks? All the blanked out addresses are my WAN address.

    Firewall Rule Error Message

Thanks. It's confusing to have firewall rules in 2 different places. Hopefully Asus is listening.

    Firewall Rule Error Message

I was trying to use the GUI to add a firewall rule to open 2 ports for my ATA, but I got a weird error message, see attached. Do I need to do something different to get this to work? The IP address of the router is 192.168.2.1. The ATA has a static IP address.

connmon connmon v.3x - Internet connection monitoring

Where can I look to see if that is happening? Update: Without me doing anything to my configuration including with Skynet, 75.75.75.75 is now working again, so I'm guessing it really was a Comcast problem that they fixed.

connmon connmon v.3x - Internet connection monitoring

I think I found the problem. I was using 75.75.75.75, and it seems that has stopped responding. I tried doing pings from the Tools tab and that too did not show results. But if I used another location, 1.1.1.1, or google.com, all seems to be OK. So let's put this one into the category of...
