    DoT

You should be good to go with my earlier configuration posted minus the rebind protection as per @dave14305 explanation.

    DoT

    In case DNSSec fails.

What's the use case for rebind protection if it's not necessary when using a filtering service?

    DoT

They are DoT ready, at least for the last 3-4 months.

Those DNS servers on port 53 are only in use at boot up, when the router doesn't yet start the DNSSEC service. So instead of using your ISP's DNS service it would use the DNS servers defined here. I checked my connection and it does what it supposed to do and route everything through port 853. 0...

    DoT

With above settings you'll have devices that will ignore the routers DNS settings, but you can force them to use the routers DNS. Use these setting: Next set your DNSFilter in the LAN settings to router: Now all of your traffic should go through 1.0.0.2. You can check this by tracking the...

Possible problem with MESH nodes using Firmware version 386.1

When setting up the AI node I always use an ethernet connection between the main router and nodes. Setting it up this way is much faster and after everything runs, I move the node to its intended location. The node will then atomically configure it for the best connection to the main router.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

It's pretty safe. There are no major changes like the last upgrade from the 384 to 386 code base. The alpha is mostly about fixing some issues in 386.1. I have it installed on two AX88U and one AX58U without any problems.

    Cloudflare inadyn stopped working

I know that there is an indayn update in the new 386.2 alpha. I don't think you can update this in the firmware you're running without compiling it with the new inadyn version 2.8.1. You would have to upgrade to the latest alpha release to see if it fixes your issue.

[RT-AX86U] Merlin 386.1 - Unable to completely disable upnp

The new alpha released today should include the patch for GeForce NOW Merlin mentioned above and of course many other improvements and fixes. Thank you @RMerin for all the fixes.

RT-AC88U: 160 MHz channel width does not work on Merlin

Looks like 386.2 alpha1 (Feb. 9. Release) comes with a fix to enable the 160Mhz channel. If you're brave enough to install the alpha you can test it out to see if the fix works.

Diversion Diversion blocking WellsFargo Mobile app, following log shows nothing blocked

That's insane that they use 3rd party tracker dependency to controll the function of their app. You are basically opening your network to some of the largest trackers just to run this one app.

    Bugs in Release 386.1 [RESOLVED]

Empty your browser cache, reset the router after you update the firmware and format the jffs partition should take care of your issues.

Diversion Diversion blocking WellsFargo Mobile app, following log shows nothing blocked

The 3 listed domains are trackers and don't have anything to do with the function of the app. Wait for thelonleycoders fix.

Diversion How can I determine what LAN client is calling blocked sites

Blocked by diversion? If so, follow the dnsmaq.log. Option 2 will show you the blocked domains and highlighted in red with the client IP.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

Are you sure you have the correct firmware for the AC86U and not AX86U? If so, unplug all USB devices, reboot the router, and try again.

Skynet Skynet removes 30 banned ranges this morning - should I be worried?

It looks like there was a manual change made to your banned ranges. Your time stamp shows an out of schedule change at 07:25:52, every other entry is on schedule at the top of the hour. Maybe it was a router reboot that triggered a manual update, or a whitelist change was made in option 4.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

You can use both Merlin and stock Asus, but it's recommended to use the same code base 386 since there were major changes from 384 to 386.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

Both router models work as expected. Did a dirty upgrade from beta 5.

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta (stage 2) is now available

I use an OOMA as well and noticed that it causes issues (mostly interference when making OOMA calls) a while ago. I bought a modem with two LAN ports (ARRIS CM8200A) and connected the router on port 1 and the OOMA phone system on port 2. Works like a charm.
