    Log verbosity 380.66_2 Openvpn

--verb n Set output verbosity to n (default=1). Each level shows all info from the previous levels. Level 3 is recommended if you want a good summary of what's happening without being swamped by output. 0 -- No output except fatal errors. 1 to 4 -- Normal usage range. 5 -- Output R and W...

"Best" open source firmware for Netgear X10

DD-WRT is the only opensource firmware for this router I believe.

Upcoming ASUS ROG Gaming Router: GT-AC5300

Absolutely agree Asus is the leader in features they are offering customers. For the XVortex port (only one I can think of), I can't see that being much of an issue. I would like to think purchases are not being made in order to run the port, but more so giving users the ability to run on...

Upcoming ASUS ROG Gaming Router: GT-AC5300

I would have to assume new routers will be off a newer code base. So perhaps the more new routers Asus releases, the more "common" the code base for the GT will be to the current product offerings. So if Asus's OpenVPN implementation (VPN Fusion) is closed source, does this mean you wouldn't be...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

I would recommend starting a new thread, now that it's established this is not a fork issue.

    Parental control's DNS Filtering question

You need to log into OpenDNS's site/profile and update your profile there. The site will automatically scrape your public facing IP. So granted your not on VPN when connecting, use that IP to update your OpenDNS profile. Then all queries they receiver against their servers from the IP will be...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

I think what John was suggesting, is you following up with @thelonelycoder perhaps to ask him if those lines are coming from AB. Then if so, what AB is accomplishing with it.

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

So far so good, thanks for pushing this update out @john9527 Feels good to be behind the security patches. Hope you feel better, or maybe the meds have you feeling too good......

Update fails while connected to router via OpenVPN

You are right.... my eyes went cross-ways by that point. :-)

Update fails while connected to router via OpenVPN

I wonder, maybe provide more details to what you are connecting "to" on your remote sites to perform the update. Are you just VPN'ing in, then pulling up the WebUI on your locally VPN'd systems web browser? @RMerlin I see you carefully said you remote into a Desktop at home, then perform the...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.66 is now available

Or you need to wipe and reconfigure as XVortex called out ;-)

can only use openvpn client 1

Might want to check your firewall rules. I am no expert, but I believe when you define you clients in the policy based section, they will get assigned to a "tun". This will likely be 1, 2, 3 etc.... and if you want the same client to flip flop between two active tunnels, you may need to delete...

    ROG-Rapture-GT-AC5300

Unfortunate, but understood. Perhaps if more future devices are based off the same platform then it may be worth the effort?

    ROG-Rapture-GT-AC5300

Anymore thinking on this? Would be welcoming to see your touch on this one, being the most powerful yet. Would be a great one for your OpenVPN implementation and CPU affinity setting.

WARNING - PIA DATA CENTERS ODD IP CHANGES

You switching? Two posters in there bring up some good points. (FYI, just switched to using my IPVanish account until this pans out)

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

I do not use guest wifi at home, however I do use a pi hole and John's fork. What I do is set the WAN dns to OpenDNS's servers. So the router itself has dns resolution. Then on the LAN tab under the DHCP settings, I set the IP of my pihole on DNS Server 1 for the internal Network. This works...

    VPN usage and processor utilization

    1. "top" or "hotp" (htop might need to install) works great. 2. Merlin's default. I believe they are hard coded round robin to cores - 1,0,1,0,1 etc... (Corrected)
