Multiple DNS Servers - How does the router decide which one to use?

Cool and good to know but this is also happening with rebind protection enabled in router, disabled in NextDNS webui with blocklist from their webui Nov 30 22:35:15 dnsmasq[4446]: possible DNS-rebind attack detected: browser.events.data.msn.com Nov 30 22:35:16 dnsmasq[4446]: possible DNS-rebind...

Multiple DNS Servers - How does the router decide which one to use?

Manage to try my spare AX86S with current 388 beta 4 and I do get these when Enable DNS Rebind protection set to enabled. Having the Rebind Protection off on NextDNS webui doesnt change things ov 30 22:03:20 dnsmasq[5108]: possible DNS-rebind attack detected: 0mso8yci6lb.rtt-test.dnscheck.tools...

Multiple DNS Servers - How does the router decide which one to use?

There will be an issue with DNS rebinding protection. If you do locally, some tweaking about rebinding protection needed. Maybe someone using NextDNS TLS with local dns services like dnsmasq/unbound/diversion can post their settings?

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 Beta is available for select models

I had the same issue before. It was automatically enabled, maybe because I had blocked one device for internet access. When upgrading to new firmware, this port forwarding switched on automatically, every time. Maybe you have blocked devices to internet/WAN? In my case I block printer for...

    RT-AX86 Series

I have spare RT-AX86S now too. If I want to do this setup, should I go for Asus stock on the 86S? RT-AX86U currently using 386.7_2 Merlin

    [Dev] Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 development

Really interesting reads and thank you for all the hard work @RMerlin . I have some free time for whole of November. Maybe I should use my RT-AX86S as AiMesh node connected to RT-AX86U when the alpha is ready rather than selling it? or just RT-AX86S as the main router testing alpha build. But...

Skynet Skynet + Diversion behind CG-Nat Address

Hi guys. Just trying to find out what INVALID PACKET means in firewall, both the standard one and Skynet. In Skynet (AX86U) there are many of these Microsoft and Apple and none of them are in malicious in AlienVault or AbuseIPDB. Examples RT-AX86U Skynet - no indication and whitelisted on Alien...

    NextDNS: Thumbs up, Thumbs down?

I have stopped using NextDNS on router. Some blocked queries by Diversion managed to be listed in their logs and blocked again, only some tho not most. Maybe local/service cookies? It's good for you're on the go. But I trust and more comfortable with Diversion + Quad9 to do the job on the router...

Skynet Skynet + Diversion behind CG-Nat Address

Haha I imagined the joke the wrong way! £5 a month, yeah. Will do that maybe. Read about ipv6, on the fence about it.

Skynet Skynet + Diversion behind CG-Nat Address

Yes it is available Support Results | Hyperoptic Didn't see any SLAAC option anywhere on Web GUI. Purchase static ipv4 address. £5 a month. Not as expensive as post #18

Skynet Skynet + Diversion behind CG-Nat Address

Sorry I thought the goal is to replace this WAN IP address to public IP address. By having bridge connected to the socket for instance, and passing the public IP to Asus so that it can function normally and have everything - at least work. Skynet is not working for me atm so will uninstall for now.

Skynet Skynet + Diversion behind CG-Nat Address

Haha thanks Tech9. If I have the option of having bridge for the ethernet socket, and Asus router getting public IP that is what I would do. I'll have a read on ipv6 and how to implement it. Enjoying this 500Mbps speed tho! Thanks again!

Skynet Skynet + Diversion behind CG-Nat Address

Yeah we do. I thought having a modem/bridge connected to Hyperoptic socket, and Asus router getting the public address was the solution, because WAN IP is 100x but checking browserleaks I do see public IP address. I can't remember who is against ipv6 and for ipv6 - but maybe time to consider...

Skynet Skynet + Diversion behind CG-Nat Address

Right sorry got a bit confused/excited. I was using Huawei HG612 before with RJ11 socket. Hyperoptic socket is RJ45. Is there any way I can utilise AX86S as bridge to make the AX86U operating with public IP?

Skynet Skynet + Diversion behind CG-Nat Address

Ah gotcha! So I can setup my AX86S in that mode. With the AX86S getting 100x IP, how will AX86U in router mode getting the public address please?
