[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.20308 for All Supported Products

WRT54G v1 was my first router. Amazing tech at that time :) Had other routers after that and none required much learning curve or surprises until my first ASUS recently. ASUS is a great hardware company and my impression is that their development team are working hard to fix things. At the...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.20308 for All Supported Products

@bbunge @RMerlin Is this also related to a Merlin flash from the firmware 384.20308, at the web login screen message (and not able to enter login credentials), "Note : the router you are using is not an ASUS device or has not been authorised by ASUS. ASUSWRT might not work properly on this...

    Repeating log entries

Both the first unit and the recent one showed this repeating log and noticed it recently with the first one on the latest firmware. Clearing did not help. Saving a copy of logs each day and monitoring. First unit manufacturing date is 2017 (out of box firmware 382.15098) and second unit is...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.20308 for All Supported Products

Was very careful with the second router as the first one did the same thing. At that time, was not sure if it was the IOS app or something else. This time, only linked the app to the router and check stuff like wireless settings. Did not go into the check firmware tab on the app. Noticed the...

    Repeating log entries

As displayed in the system log with all the log entries effectively shown again. Checked with both Safari and Chrome browsers. Not hardware related as it happened to two AC86U with different manufacturing dates. Firmware Version: 3.0.0.4.384_20467 The saved system log file is correct...

Asus Router app and "unintentional" activation of remote access to router

It also appears that specific models have automatic firmware updates enabled. Silent (no notifications or permissions) type of activities need to be clearly documented. There is a lot of confidence and trust with the ASUS brand and technologies, and transparency on these type of stuff is...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.20308 for All Supported Products

Exactly. I am deleting the app. Seriously Asus. An app that makes changes (DDNS and web access) silently is simply wrong whatever the intent of the developers were. I had checked after the auto firmware upgrade and these were turned on (it was off when the router was first configured).

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.20308 for All Supported Products

Updated, reset and reconfigured from 384.20308 to 384.20467 and monitoring. Life will be easier if its an hardware issue (RMA replacement) however the symptoms do not seem to be typical hardware faults. Same errors with firmware 384.20308 appearing with 384.20467. Sent the logs to Asus...

Asus RT-AC86U - connectivity and memory usage

Running disc scanner (flashdrive attached) released memory which was hovering around 95% to 75% used. Within minutes it came back to around 95% used. Formatted the flash drive and memory went to around 70% used and stayed there. Could be the file management system. Also noticed CPU usage...

    Asus AC86U with strange problem...?

Did you setup via the mobile app? Had a ton of issues with a new AC86U (being my first Asus router) and only after restore to factory using a desktop browser, firmware recovery and update the firmware again, with factory initialise after the firmware re-flashed (did it twice on the side of...

Asus RT-AC86U - connectivity and memory usage

Seems that way. The latest flash with 384.20308 1. Immediately after flash, initialise and setup, 115MB free 2. One day later free memory fluctuates between 30MB and 50MB 3. After formating the USB flashdrive attached, free memory went from 50MB to 141MB. Update a day later. Free memory...
