Yes I am sure the ER4 beats the USG by far. It is also serious underpowered. As I said the USG and the Pros where basically the options when I tried it out and there where lacking in performance IMO. Stability was another thing. I had them to short to proper determine but did experience Cloud...

So what you are basically saying is the following sentence "Fantastic performance and stability." actually means "Fantastic speed, stability and stability." ? And when EVEN though MarkSW explicitly splits performance and stability up in two words he still refers to performance as a stability...

I have already played with USG, Cloud Key, switch and 3 AC Pros. This setup was and IS quite lacking in performance. The AC Pros are not match for any 4x4 class AP as clear shown in the numbers for Tims tests. However the AP HD is another story but another price also. So my performance issue is...

All you are mentioning here are stability issues - not performance issues. I have already mentioned the Ubnt solution may be more STABLE but does not yield a better performance. And it objectively does not. And I am sorry but relying on the rest of the household to actual measure performance...

The Pro I am referring to is the AC Pro. The only Pro device you claim to have and yes not ER-4 since it is not a Pro. Now we have stating the obvious out of the way let's continue. No the AC Pro DOES not beat the GT-AC5300 in performance! You have been drinking the kool-aid from your reddit...

Sure it may be more stable but "fantastic performance". That's a tall tale to say the least. The Pro performs much worse even on 1x1, 2x2 and 3x3 clients. Many reviews prove this and I have also tried this myself. Though the reddit fanboys will claim otherwise because they base their facts on...

Yes there are many moronic fanboys in there. And most have not heard of SNB! BTW why not the Nano HD? Is it the 2.4 GHz performance?

e I also tried the Ubnt route. However the performance of USG was terrible. Enabling a few features and the performance drops. The GT-AC5300 handles 1 gbit download easily with all features enabled. And Ubnt does not even have a proper IDS (yet) and site blocking like AiProctection. This is my...

    GT-AC5300 and Comcast Gigabit Internet

You can still use QoS with hardware acceleration. Just use Adaptive QoS which is also the recommended mode by Asus.

    GT-AC5300 and Comcast Gigabit Internet

Old firmware with a bug. This has been fixed. The speed is of course on par with RT-AC5300 now but is still retains the execellent CTF performance.

    GT-AC5300 and Comcast Gigabit Internet

I am able to reach 950+ down and 500+ up with GT-AC5300 with SPI and AiProtection activated. You must have set something up that limits the speed. Like an older version of the QoS. Avoid using QoS with these speeds and stick to Adaptive QoS if needed.

Is there any Asus router that supports AiMesh has captive portal?

AiMesh does not even support guest network on nodes yet. Only on main node. So no.

QNAP TS109 II no connection to ASUS RT-AC86U router

Dont use a TS-109 II ! It is a 10 years old device that perform worse than the builtin functions of the RT-AC86. Besides it has not being firmware updated for 4 years so it is huge risk to use such a device.

    ASUS GT AC5300 Speed Problems

I have the GT-AC5300. It can do 940+ mbps with Adaptive QoS, AiProctetion and traffic analyzer enabled. OP you must be doing something wrong :-( Could you please give us more details.

Yes but what does it have to do with saturating a 1gbps WAN connection and usage of QoS? Please look at context instead of replying on a single sentence out of context.

    ROG Rapture GT-AC5300 (Owners)

Number of devices does not really mean anything. If you have 50 Sonos speakers it will still not use 50 mbit. Take my ISP for instance. Fast.com speedtest shows that Netflix can only send about 250 mbit on my 1gbit connection. So that still means around 10 devices could show full 4K HDR UHD...

    ROG Rapture GT-AC5300 (Owners)

Neither would I but it is simply not a problem with a 1gb connection. Monitoring traffic it becomes obvious that the line is never saturated so there will always be bandwith for any of the scenarios you mention. They simply do not happen. And even if one client should somehow find a magic server...

    ROG Rapture GT-AC5300 (Owners)

I you have a 1 gbps WAN connection the changes of it being saturated is near zero. Just finding an actual speed test that saturate it is difficult.

    RT-AC86U - Awful router - Netgear wins

So you are saying a device that costs twice as much performs better? Stop the presses!

    GT-AC5300 Connection Problem

It seems to be a known bug. It always shows it on mine even though the WAN is working fine. Is show connected om the Game Dashboard though.
