Does firewall-start Script Ever Run Twice With Same iptables Rules?

It gets called twice at startup and anytime you change firewall in the GUI. Your script should always delete the rules before adding them to prevent duplicates. In other words, every rule you add, do the exact same rule with -D right above it, 2 copies of each rule in your script. If the rule...

RT-AX56U - SSL error when accessing a specific website

Only other thing I can think is maybe you had trend micro or parental enabled at some point and some of it is still active (didn't totally disable and something still lingering invisibly)? Have you gone to privacy and done "withdraw"? All else fails, maybe time for a hard reset. The only...

ZenWiFi AX XT8 connect via ethernet to TV securely

That is for something totally different from what I'm suggesting. https://www.snbforums.com/threads/how-to-use-vlans-on-your-non-pro-asus-router-with-386-or-388-code-no-scripting-required.85850/

AX6000 1 to 2 meters proximity ping from clients

There will be some additional latency when you go from 2.5 to 1 or 1 to 2.5, but it should not be significant, less than 1msec I would think. There's no routing involved but different serialization delays. If your pings are more consistent now and not spiking way up, I would not expect your...

    Setup advice

Check the signal levels on the XB8, if they are in normal range, then Xfinity needs to add capacity to your area, they've obviously oversold what is available.

    DNS Resolver Problem

Quad9 should have a place where you can report false positives. Unfortunately that will happen from time to time with any filtering DNS.

    IPV6 ONLY DDNS

Just remove your A record from your DDNS provider and see if the AAA still updates? May report an error but still work fine. Worth a try.

ZenWiFi AX XT8 connect via ethernet to TV securely

All Aimesh compatible routers can support VLANs when guest 1 is enabled.

    Setup advice

Unless you have phone service you don't need their router at all, you can get an arris S33 modem and plug your Asus right into it. If their modem is free or getting you unlimited usage (I've heard that's the case in some areas) and you want to keep it, it should work fine in bridge mode (others...

    Setup advice

There is no bridging at layer 3.

ZenWiFi AX XT8 connect via ethernet to TV securely

It is unlikely anything you'll do on the TV will exceed 100M, I wouldn't worry about that. If you are having connectivity problems it could just be the TV, or it could be poor signal strength. Wired is always better if you can do it. The wireless bridge is just adding an extra hop, not making...

RT-AX56U - SSL error when accessing a specific website

If it isn't the router protecting you then your DNS is flagging it and redirecting you to a warning page. Try using a non filtering DNS in the router like your ISP's DNS server.

RT-AX56U - SSL error when accessing a specific website

Only guess is aiprotection or parental controls are blocking that site, redirecting you to a page on the router, and the router has a self signed cert causing the browser to give you that warning.

ZenWiFi AX XT8 connect via ethernet to TV securely

That's still a wireless connection, probably worse than the current one.

ZenWiFi AX XT8 connect via ethernet to TV securely

You will need a smart switch with VLAN support and you must be using guest wireless 1. Then you can put the TV in one of the built in Asus guest VLANs on a wired port. You can get Netgear or TP-Link smart switches in the $20 to $30 range, then search here for the tutorial I put up about using...

OpenVPN 128GCM vs 256GCM Speeds On Hardware Accelerated Routers

Lower encryption levels will almost always be faster. As far as how much on that model, you'd just have to try it and see.

Problem with my RT-AC86U and would an RT-AC86U power adapter fit an RT-AX86U?

Look at the two adapters, the voltage must be identical, the current must be at least as much as the AX one (can be more but not less) and obviously the plug must be the same. To be extra safe, there should be a little image showing if the tip or ring is positive (likely tip is positive and...

These types of Apple devices/services should be outlawed. No security fix is available at all

Eh, its the same argument gun people make - but cars kill more people. Nuclear bombs can kill more than both. It isn't a competition, each thing can be handled independently. In most cases buying a gun from walmart is pretty difficult, they need to verify your license, run a background check...

    Confused about subnets and vlans

Cisco would use private VLANs with isolated and promiscuous ports. Depending on the implemention usually you can have them all isolated but allowed to talk to each other, or possibly all promiscuous with no egress port. But in reality just putting a bunch of ports into a VLAN like 999 and not...
