    TUF GAMING AX6000

As a heads up the GT-AX6000 is actually cheaper in quite a few places at the moment -and it is supported by Merlin.

Setting cable modem priority to highest minimizes latency without QoS enabled

@Tech9 I've seen this on dedicated NTL (VirginMedia) cable and Draytek xDSL modems more than once for myself - the setting that is! Not a clue what it's actually doing or how it would do it, but I can vouch that the settings have indeed appeared. It also did not seem to make one jot of...

    Disable A record ASUS DDNS

Using asuscomm.com I believe not. Some other DDNS services allow you to pick and choose the records you want to update/publish, but if you are not publishing your IPv4 address then it'll probably mean looking at a custom (but pretty simple) script. I believe Hurricane Electric allows a degree...

custom ddns update every minutes with AX86U 3004.388.7 firmeware

I believe the discussion is still looking at means to do this and make it persistent while using regular Asus firmware.

JFFS2 space issue, rebuilt, and questions

You are concentrating on the wrong issue here, as JFFS is "on router" and does not exist on the external (SSD) drive. The threads that you reference, already seem to give possible solutions!

GT-AX6000 can't update firmware and other settings...need help

A: old thread B: I'm handy with a soldering iron but SMTs are beyond my capability or equipment!

    Zero CPU Usage?

Yup 100ms in online gaming is a big deal, but most of that is probably caused by distance to the server, routing, or the server simply not being able to cope! If it is any of those reasons, there'll be little you can do within your own network to help. *Sometimes using a VPN can change the...

    Zero CPU Usage?

@Nadergg We commonly see gamers entering forums such as SNB chasing Impossible latency goals, sometimes chasing nano-second reductions. We rarely see them happy with what they discover. You are often not going to improve things over keeping it simple, and if possible use a wired connection...

confused about the 3 different DNS settings

Regards posting images of your settings: Don't include anything that can identify you or your network. So the most important thing is to avoid posting names, physical addresses, WAN IP addresses, and just be careful with MAC addresses and network names. Your DNS server IP addresses will be...

CloudFlare Proxied DNS, can't login to Asus router

The easiest way to remotely access your resources is probably to use Asus Instant Guard app and router. It's basic but it mostly does the job!

CloudFlare Proxied DNS, can't login to Asus router

I think this describes why: https://developers.cloudflare.com/dns/manage-dns-records/reference/proxied-dns-records/ If you change the logging level or use skynet you'll be able to pull the info - whether it will help or not is another matter! What are you hoping to achieve by using proxied IP/DNS?

CloudFlare Proxied DNS, can't login to Asus router

Absolutely playing Captain Obvious here: Have you previously logged off from the router WEBUI, if not you are seeing exactly what I'd expect to see!

confused about the 3 different DNS settings

@Nadergg DNS servers are rarely supersecret; so I'd probably post a couple of screenshot examples. And probably as a new question, though I'm pretty sure it's going to be nothing to worry about!

Hey all, new to SNB. looking for Ultra low latency tweaks

Some of the Asus routers "very allegedly" have a prioritised network port for allegedly low latency gaming. There's no setting needed, and without a bit of digging it can be hard to figure out if it's supposed to be LAN1 or LAN4. And I have to say, while I was on a VDSL2 connection, I never...

    Cannot reply?

It may be that the thread has been locked by an admin. This sometimes happens when a long-dead "zombie" thread gets resurrected but with circumstances having changed a new thread would be preferable.

    Chromecast Slow over-wifi

Also worth pointing out that on-the-fly 4K streaming can have a bit rate in the range 35-40Mbps (so if it's encoding you shouldn't see a sustained data stream significantly faster than this), and the sending device needs to be capable of encoding at those kind of rates - it's not just a basic...

    Chromecast Slow over-wifi

How well Plex can stream files will often depend on how they are encoded! And your Chromecast with Google TV (4K) is not strictly WiFi - I have one here, and you can get a powersupply with ethernet port to replace the PSU it came with - note that it's still limited to 100Mbps though!

Trying to diagnose why Google Pixel Devices won't update on network?

If it's just for a single situation, you can always temporarily (there's a timer) disable pi-hole blocking for a short period or even temporarily just for the one device.

    New user questions

@Qwinn if you are on here long enough you'll realise that there are a few on here that are well aware they can be insufferable. My adventure started with an adult family member with behavioural issues who used to regularly download software infected with trojans and viri, and then every few...

    CAKEQOS/FLEXQOS Advise/Guidance/Best Practice

Previously while on VDSL2 with a 55/15 (ish) connection I found CAKE to be the best way to manage QOS when using streaming game services. Streaming from Stadia (yeah it's a little while back) at 4K it was easy to hit 25Mbps or more. Honestly, though a physical XBox never came anywhere near...
