SMB performance differs under QNAP QTS 4 and QTS 5 - Why and who's to blame

Well, it's over a decade since I worked there, but not much seems to have changed. If anything, the few competent people they had, have left.

SMB performance differs under QNAP QTS 4 and QTS 5 - Why and who's to blame

All I can say is, good luck. That's coming from someone that used to work for QNAP and that was fighting on behalf of customers to try and get shi-t fixed. I think you're better of asking this question in the QNAP forums though, as some people that might have an idea.

    What difference will I see AX53U v AX58U v AX82U v AX86U

Maybe I should add that my GT-AX6000 covers our 92 square meter flat with very good coverage everywhere on the 5 GHz band (500 Mbps or faster). The router is placed in a central location and half the walls are concrete and half are plasterboard.

No more than 10k character posts is broken

Nah man, not going to waste time on that, sorry. Not going to bother posting any more news here.

No more than 10k character posts is broken

Well, then I guess I won't be posting that news. 🤷‍♂️

No more than 10k character posts is broken

But the text is 9000, not 10000.

You also have the GT-AX6000 which is a tad cheaper in the UK. Scan recently had it on sale for 160 quid.

No more than 10k character posts is broken

Tried to post a Netgear press release at 9000 characters and the forums says no, it's over 10k.

MLO: What exactly is Smart Connect's role?

Yeah, that's not how it works. It's not USB 3.0 that's causing noise, but rather, if you use devices with poorly/cheaply made cables with insufficient shielding, you can get interference, but only when data is being transferred. In general, this isn't an issue any more and it would require the...

    AX86U Pro (Region : India)

Send it back to the seller and tell them not to sell imported routers not intended for India. In fact, that should be illegal in India, as the country has very strict regulations on importing devices with radio transmitters. When I worked for a router manufacturer, we had major issues with...

    What difference will I see AX53U v AX58U v AX82U v AX86U

If you want long term support, get the RT-AX86U. Asus always drops support for the cheaper models, that also are less popular, quicker than they do for the more popular models. They also drop support for non Broadcom hardware faster.

    GT-AX6000 and OpenVPN issue

I just had to delete the client entry and create a new one and it was working fine.

    GT-AX6000 and OpenVPN issue

Normally no, but this new firmware brought with it a lot of changes, some of which relates to VPN.

News Akasa shows off 5 Gbps Network Card at Computex

No, it has absolutely nothing to do with consumers. 2.5 Gbps and 5 Gbps were implemented so older cabling could be used, since 10 Gbps requires Cat 6a for runs longer than 50 meters. 2.5 Gbps runs fine of Cat 5E and 5 Gbps was intended for this as well, but it seems like this was changed to Cat...

    ASUS Unveils RT-BE88U WiFi 7 Dual-Band Router

I'm talking about the new router, it's running AsusWRT 5.0, i.e. not at all compatible with the old stuff you have, which is running 4.0. And yes, you can brick hardware with the wrong config file, as it can write data where it doesn't belong and prevent the device from booting up correctly...

    ASUS Unveils RT-BE88U WiFi 7 Dual-Band Router

You're aware that those two are not just running entirely different operating systems, but don't have the exact same settings, so you're pretty much messing up your router every time you restore the config file from a different router, right? You should just be glad you didn't brick your new...

    ROG Rapture GT-BE19000

Real as in a hand made mockup. Those are just costly, not necessarily hard to make. And by mockup, I don't mean dummy.

News Akasa shows off 5 Gbps Network Card at Computex

It looks like the more affordable 5 Gbps network cards are nearly here, as Akasa was showing off a 5 Gbps NIC at Computex this week. This is based on Realtek's 5 Gbps chips that they were showing at Computex last year. Source...

    ASUS RT-BE58U

That's pretty much what I paid for my GT-AX6000... No way I would trade it for this POS.
