Looking for feedback: Anyone considering AiCloud important to them?

9 pages? I was going to edit to say but thought it was pretty obvious... if someone wants to use an antiquated stock feature they can still use stock firmware. I appreacite @RMerlin taking time to gather user feeback! If they decide it's more trouble than it's worth to maintain an unused/unknown...

Looking for feedback: Anyone considering AiCloud important to them?

Had to login to my router to remind myself what AiCloud even does! I feel it's a small minority that uses AiCloud, and if they know how to install and use Asuswrt-Merlin, I hope they'd know how to setup your better listed alternatives. I personally would rather it all be removed for less running...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.9 is now available for AC models

386.9 running great for 2.5 days on RT-AC86U! :) Previously had like 121 days up time on 386.7_2.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.9 is now available for AC models

Thanks @RMerlin! I was honestly worried you weren't going to receive any new releases from Asus for the AC models. Though all that seems necessary now for AC models is mostly bug and major exploit fixes, if any arise. @RMerlin, have Asus sent you a BE router yet? RT-BE96U and GT-BE98 were...

    FlexQoS Thanks for your support!

Thanks @dave14305, for all your time and hard work you put in to developing and maintaining FlexQoS! I know you're not leaving, but I've always looked forward to your posts, as you've always seemed courteous and open to other people's ideas and new experiments etc. Hope you've been enjoying...

    Improving my Bufferbloat score

I love CakeQoS, and it's already built in to Merlin as a QoS option! Cake maxes out around 350 on Asus routers, but even with more bandwidth available I'd still personally use CakeQoS. I'd just set is at 350-380 then configure the other settings (try cable preset for you, run some bloat tests to...

USB Drive for addons reliablity (SLC nand)

Besides interface speed I'm not aware of any other reasons. I mostly only use NVME SSD as main system/OS drives where you'll hopefully actually make use of and feel more speed (compared to SATA).

USB Drive for addons reliablity (SLC nand)

This tiny awesome mSATA SSD I'd consider using! 16GB MLC, DRAM Cache, etc. (TS16GMSA370) https://www.transcend-info.com/Embedded/Products/No-1059

USB Drive for addons reliablity (SLC nand)

Prefer how small these are plugged in to my router, uses MLC *shrugs*

    [Dev] Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 development

Glad to hear it's less of a pain than expected! :D Thanks for the update on some of the hard work you do for each new build.

Skynet Show Country Names instead of Codes?

Will you ever stop questioning people using Skynet? Every time someone mentions using it you feel the need to explain to them how the default firewall works...

Entware Usb storage for asusmirlin ?

I'm trying one of these, uses MLC memory so hopefully will be pretty reliable.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

Smooth update from beta2 to 386.7 on AC86U. Thanks @RMerlin! Could just be me: Beta1 to Beta2 eventually (maybe coincidentally) screwed up my JFFS (Skynet specifically wouldn't start), but I started fresh and re-did all my scripts and settings and all's good now. First time my endurance microSD...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 Beta is now available

    Updated AC86U to 386.7_beta1 from 386.5_2, and all's well. Thanks @RMerlin!

Asuswrt-Merlin is now 10 years old!

I haven't been around long, but the main reason I bought the AC86U was the potential of eventually flashing some different firmware. Now I can't imagine using a router without Asuswrt-Merlin, and built-in CakeQoS and add-on ad-blocking to name a few features. Thanks for helping so many people...

Best setup for the Asus RT-AC68U (ACTUALIZED to 2019)

I've actually found all beamforming may cause lag or packet loss from misdirected signals. Let me explain. Beamforming basically alters each antenna's power to focus the wifi signal in a direction towards a client, and may work well for stationary clients. I find sending wifi in all directions...

I can't remember but you may need the add-on scMerlin to see that. In amtm also, j3.
