    Beta Asus RT-AX89X_9.0.0.4_388_31185 Beta

I saw something similar to this on .33673 last night. I had two WiFi devices that could see the 5GHz network and attempted to connect to it, but upon re-connection the signal was unusually weak, there was no Internet access, and within seconds they'd be booted off the network. Because I needed...

    Beta Asus RT-AX89X_9.0.0.4_388_31185 Beta

I'm not seeing this issue on the latest beta firmware (32100). My fan is running around 1900rpm. Set to auto. Start is 45/75/90. Stop is 40/70/85.

    Beta Asus RT-AX89X_9.0.0.4_388_31185 Beta

Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), it was already unchecked.

    Beta Asus RT-AX89X_9.0.0.4_388_31185 Beta

On the 388.32099 firmware I'm seeing older wireless clients having difficulty trying to connect. As in, they can't. Specifically, they're Logitech SqueezeBox Radios, which I believe are 802.11b. Anyone else seeing this behavior with older (ancient?) wireless clients?

    Beta Asus RT-AX89X_9.0.0.4_388_31185 Beta

Status report: After 8 days since the last reboot, RAM usage has climbed from 54% to 85%. [EDIT: Now at 86%.] This is generally as high as I allow it to get before rebooting. I can't risk any malfunctions that might arise if the RAM were to fill completely and crash the router.

    Beta Asus RT-AX89X_9.0.0.4_388_31185 Beta

Yes, the usage starts out at ~54% and will climb over ~1.5 weeks to 85%, which is the highest I’ve allowed it to go before rebooting. After rebooting yesterday I’m now at 63%, up from 54% immediately after boot. So, yes, it’s a clearly a memory leak, and I was reporting my experience so that...

    Beta Asus RT-AX89X_9.0.0.4_388_31185 Beta

The graph is static because I only had the GUI loaded for a few seconds before capturing the screenshot. I wanted to show current RAM usage levels in that screenshot, not longitudinal data.

    Beta Asus RT-AX89X_9.0.0.4_388_31185 Beta

I'm still seeing RAM usage climb to concerning levels over time (days). This was rebooted one week ago: Prior to these betas, RAM usage would hover around 52–54% indefinitely. This escalating RAM usage issue might be tied to running an endpoint on a permanent VPN connection (not using VPN...

Release ASUS RT-AX88U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22237

This .22237 release has been nothing but hassle for me. All seemed okay at first, but I've been suffering random "offline" node errors for the past couple of weeks. It's terrible for home automation when your wireless devices keep losing their closest access point. Am reverting to .20558, which...

    Beta Asus RT-AX89X_9.0.0.4_388_31185 Beta

I will reiterate that _31307 still appears to have a memory leak. It is less severe than the previous version, but I am still seeing RAM usage climb steadily over multiple days. Use at your own risk, keep an eye on your RAM, and if you're going to insist on running beta software for the sake of...

    Beta Asus RT-AX89X_9.0.0.4_388_31185 Beta

FYI, the 31185 beta has identified memory leaks. I've had an engineer confirm this. Keep an eye on your unit's RAM usage. To everyone asking where the beta can be downloaded: I'd recommend filing a report via the Feedback tab on your router if you are experiencing show-stopping issues like...

    Beta Asus RT-AX89X_9.0.0.4_388_31185 Beta

I've been running this for about a week because I was experiencing the intermittent lockups with the previous "stable" firmware. WireGuard is amazing. I'm using it with my iPhone and it's just like being on my local network. I will test it with additional devices in the coming days. The one...

    Release ASUS RT-AX89X Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.47468 (2022/10/18)

Sometime during the night my AX89X locked up completely. That's the second time this has happened on this firmware. The previous instance was a few weeks ago. Had to perform a physical reboot to restore operation.

    Release ASUS RT-AX89X Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.47468 (2022/10/18)

Before I switched to Asus, I used DrayTek routers exclusively. In my experience, they're solid and full-featured. They just took forever to move beyond 802.11n for some reason.

    Release ASUS RT-AX89X Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.47468 (2022/10/18)

Great to see a firmware update, but it ain't a .388 release.

Time machine back up drive recommendation for XT8

Third-party implementation of Time Machine support can be very iffy. I have a Netgear ReadyNAS that claims to support Time Machine network backups and the newer SMB protocol (as opposed to the older AFP implementation), and yet I have to clear the backups and start over every few months because...

    RT-AX89X Firmware development lag

Was just about to post this. Surely this is incontrovertible proof that griping on Internet forums is the best way to get results!

    RT-AX89X Firmware development lag

I'm no stranger to these forums or Asus networking products. I bought the AX89X based on its next-gen specs and my prior positive experience with Asus. It was a bit janky at the outset, like many previous routers I've owned, but it's been running relatively stably for a few months. The long gaps...

Switches confirm to work with AiMesh

I have a D-Link DGS-1510-28X as my primary LAN switch. I use the 10Gb SFP+ ports with my AX89X. It works totally fine with my AiMesh setup, which consists of the AX89X (main), AX88U (node) and GT5300 (node). Now that I think about it, I actually have an additional switch further down the line...

    Release RT-AX89X Firmware 3.0.0.4.386.45120

I'm seeing about 15–20% less RAM usage with this production firmware compared to the latest beta. No idea if it stems from the roamast bugfix, but it's good to see something closer to 50% usage than >65% usage.
