Looking for feedback: Anyone considering AiCloud important to them?

I thought some of the AI Cloud features looked interesting when I first got into Asus. However after reading up on security issues here soon after I gave up on the idea. Years go by... now I just use an openVPN if I need remote access, and an ethernet attached private NAS for file storage...

FlexQoS FlexQoS 1.4.4 - Flexible QoS Enhancement Script for Adaptive QoS

FlexQos is a lifesaver. Why would you say its usefulness is declining? Thank you for making it happen and supporting it.

Question about DDNS forced update interval RT-AX86U

That is great thank you. That just leaves the question about "auto" for certificates.

Question about DDNS forced update interval RT-AX86U

For the past few years I have been blessed with an ISP that did not often change my dynamic IP address. Maybe 1x per year if that. However times change and the new owners have different methods. It now appears to be about once per month. Thus I have turned on DDNS using the default...

Is there any easy solution in Merlin for a VPN server that is hard to block/detect?

This used to work way back when. Gets blocked pretty well every where that wants to block us nowadays unfortunately.

Is there any easy solution in Merlin for a VPN server that is hard to block/detect?

Not in Merlin that I know of. However something that used to work years back if you desperately needed a connection and were ok with the risks if detected was vpn over DNS or vpn over ICMP. Required setting up a separate server. You would need to experiment with this open source university...

How to segregate a game server?

A further question on this topic. Is there an address range to block private IPv6 addresses on the router from such a device? I gather it has something to do with a "Prefix"? Many thanks Edward

    DNS/TLS IPv6.

It just dawned on me as I have admin control of the 1 pc in question on the LAN- I can just disable IPV6 connectivity in the adapter hardware properties settings and be done with my issue in (3) :) Life is too short for complicated settings. Also came across this page Merlin may have written...

    DNS/TLS IPv6.

Hmm. Would appreciate any advice on this topic. 1) I have been running DNS over TLS with strict and enabling preset servers on the WAN internet server tab. also prevent auto DoH-YES. My provider only offers IPv4. Is there any way to test this? A few years back people said to look in the...

    Diversion GUI not working

Good day. I installed Diversion a month ago and it seemed to run fine. For whatever reason I logged in today through SSH and fooled with the black and white lists but did not make any changes. I then exited Diversion but stayed in AMTM and left ssh running. A short time later I logged into...

How to segregate a game server?

Hi. If the above blocks access to my lan at 192.168.1.1 and anything else in 192.168.1.x is it correct to extrapolate that one would expand the block by entering the following into the NSF field. a) 192.168.0.0/16 and block 192.168.x.x or b) 192.0.0.0/8 and block 192.x.x.x or all of it with...

Static route vs manually assigned IP around DHCP list?

Hi Colin. Just assessing if I have approached yesterday's project of adding a gaming server and segrating it from the existing network the optimal way. I connected the new router to the existing using automatic DHCP and then manually assigned the IP address to this device from the manual...

    Automatic Static IP

This is a bug in Asus code they never bother fixing. It is randomly displays whatever it wants whenever. It has done this for at least the 5 years I have been using their products now.

Static route vs manually assigned IP around DHCP list?

Thank you all for your replies. I was trying to discern the difference between the result of using the tab under LAN called ROUTE... where it invites you to "enable static routes" versus the tab called DHCP where it invites you to manually assign an IP. Both result in a destination that does...

Static route vs manually assigned IP around DHCP list?

Is there any documentation that describes the difference between using static routes to add routers behind the main unit, versus just manually assigning an IP from the DHCP list? I did find a note that says port forwarding only works with static route somewhere but after a quick test... With a...

    Multi source selective port forward?

Hello. I have a need to forward several ports for a gaming PC. This works well so far on my rt-ax86u on the latest Merlin FW. I see when setting up port forwarding one can add a source IP to make the forwarding selective. Is it possible to enter more than one source IP in this field? Like say...

How to segregate a game server?

Hi Colin. So I finally switched to Merlin 386.12_4. Oddly it would not take for the longest time. I had to try it six times before it finally installed. I had to factory reset. Never had so many go arounds ever. After getting the basics in I immediately went to the NSF screen and put in...

How to segregate a game server?

I found the spare ac68u had the latest stock firmware on it. Appears to have a bug unfortunately. The address needs to be entered as 192.168.1.* and you have to also fill out the range. After that it allows you to add the filter. Unfortunately when you push apply it erases everything. So I am...

How to segregate a game server?

Hi Colin. Thank you for the reply. The internet is hooked to the RT-AX86u. The LAN ip address is 192.168.1.1 and the subnet mask shows 255.255.255.0 A lan port from it is connected to the wan port on the ac68u. that lan ip address is 192.168.2.1 and the subnet mask is the same. Everything...
