    Google mail vpn blocking

I just connected to my VPN service, logged into gmail and sent an email from there. No problems. So I don't think your title is correct as it sounds like they block all VPN providers, which isn't what I've found in my test. So, I'd suggest you: 1. List which VPN service 2. Test using a...

Diversion Diversion install is getting the best of me

@keef glad you got it working. As for Avast, maybe not a great loss to have it disabled: https://www.theverge.com/2024/2/22/24080135/avast-security-privacy-software-ftc-fine-data-harvesting

Paid for VPNs, Where your security and money go to die.

No, I don't feel lucky. I feel like that is a misleading, click-bait topic though :)

News RT-AC68U End of Life Announced by Asus

Sorry, I'm trying to make sense of your response: there's 'no way' to predict? Or no way there will be more software updates?

News RT-AC68U End of Life Announced by Asus

As an AX68U owner, this is disappointing. Now to see how long software updates are going to be available ...

Would any of this make my browsing more secure? (WAN DNS settings)

@OP: Keeping "attacks from coming in" ... you need to harden at various levels. Start with the system itself, keeping it patched, up-to-date AV, then the browser, make sure to run ad blocker reduce script use etc. Don't just look at the network layer. If you really want to go deep on this...

YazFi YazFi Guest Network unable to access Pi-Hole DNS server

There is no communication between the guest and main network unless you allow it. The "Two way to guest" and "One way to guest" boxes are clearly set to "no" so no traffic will pass.

(Not specifically) VPNMON-R3 1.11 failure domino effect

I don't think the config's been wiped out, but next time it happens I'll definitely look at the custom settings!

(Not specifically) VPNMON-R3 1.11 failure domino effect

Thanks for the response, I only have a single VPN slot configured on the router (using surfshark). It's not a huge deal, but I've gone back to having most systems running vpn clients on the endpoint so I _know_ if I'm no longer routed through the VPN :)

(Not specifically) VPNMON-R3 1.11 failure domino effect

I have these kind of VPN issues on a semi regular basis, where vpnmon cycles through, but can't restart. When I go into the router, I can't manually start or stop the client, only a reboot of the router helps. Different than you you describe @Ripshod , because a router reboot fixes it. The...

    VPN for a Cruise Ship

Set up the hotspot, then install Surfshark on each device. Surfshark has unlimited clients as part of your subscription, so you shouldn't run into limits. That's how I use my hotspot when out, works fine (and I use Surfshark for my VPN). Your hotspot does not need to be connected to...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

Upgraded my backup router, AX58, from 388.5 --> 388.6, no issues so far. Dirty upgrade, no manual tweaks on anything. Smooth upgrade, DDNS registered (using asuscomm.com). Waiting for a few days before switching my main router.

    Home networking

I was going to suggest looking at firewall settings, as @ColinTaylor mentioned, if the network profile is public all inbound connects will be blocked and the machines won't advertise any 'shares'.

Can't access router using DDNS address from LAN

Got it. I don't run any apple stuff, that sounds like a nuisance. Makes perfect sense that you want to solve the issue :)

Can't access router using DDNS address from LAN

Serious question, why does it matter that it shows up as 'not secure'. Accept it and move on, or just connect via the IP, I mean, you know what the internal IP of your router is, right :)
