    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

For anyone else setting this up, this is the setting on the VPN Client page: "Accept DNS Configuration" needs to be Disabled

The LAN network works consistently (it's the default rule in VPN Director) The settings I screenshot above are unchanged. What I'm wondering is if I need to change any interface settings in AdGuard itself for the 192.168.6.0/24 network.

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

Routing through VPN works, YazFi directing to VPN and using the router as DNS works, BUT, I'm getting ads. I.E. I pick an app, open it, there are ads. I close the app, I switch to the LAN network, no ads. I'll do a reboot and do some more testing.

a I had that, my VPN director rules seem to have broken. I'm testing right now to see if I can get the VPN rules back and the turn the redirection back on to see what happens.

You're too quick. It's a problem with my VPN setup (I was redirecting to VPN which doesn't work). Once I disable the redirect to VPN I got connected. :)

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

I wonder if anyone has had a chance to try and get Adguard to work with YazFi Guest? No matter what I point the DNS entry to, I get 'no internet'. Work fine when Adguard is uninstalled. I've tried using the router guest IP as the DNS, tried the router LAN IP, tried outside DNS servers...

    Did you setup VPN Director?

NextDNS but skip it on a couple of devices

As long as you're not filtering 53 outbound, you can set the devices up directly or make reservations for them and specify the DNS servers in LAN | DHCP settings :)

    Wifi network settup - RT-AC86U w or w/t RPi 3B - advice request

Here is how I run: Internet -- Router (with Skynet, but no AIProtection) -- 2x piholes in my network (default blocklist + a couple of entries for roku), one physical on a 4B and one pihole running on an ubuntu Server VM -- client browsers all run uBlock (plus disconnect, privady badger and the...

    Wifi network settup - RT-AC86U w or w/t RPi 3B - advice request

The benefit of pihole is that it can (and by default does) block a lot of trackers, besides just ads. uBlock is great to run in addition to pihole, but ublock won't do any good blocking OS or non-browser application telemetry. YMMV, but I use both. :) Good luck.

    More RT-AX58U woes

I've had mine for over a year and it seems to be running well. Now on 386.4 (previously 386.2_6 and others). Having said that, if there are QC issues, this is exactly what you'd expect. Some work fine, other have ongoing issues.

    Custom DNS servers not working

Aren't those just the values that are assigned to the external router NIC (i.e. WAN NIC) from the ISP? If you ssh into the router and run a netstat, what DNS servers is your system connected to (i.e. look for :53 for the port).

Antivirus Norton360/Avira gathering CryptoCoins in Background

Worth pointing out that both Norton and Avira are owned by the same parent company. And I _think_ they also just purchased Avast. Choose your AV protection wisely :) Sometimes even when you are paying you are the product.

Skynet Is default firewall good enough?

The real additional benefit is the outbound blocking. That's also the biggest PITA, when it has false positives and blocks things that prevent you from doing what you want. If that's worth it, only you can answer :)

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

Jacob: It's not in all versions. I.E. I don't have that (and I use the routers DHCP server). I'm curious, do you have any of the other NTP options enabled like "Enable local NTP server" ?

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

OK, mine is very minimal as well. I don't have skynet, and do have YazFi & YazDHCP, but otherwise a very plain setup (new router too, so no leftover settings from previous versions)

I don't know why you'd want to tell the clients that the DNS server is "themselves", i.e. 127.0.0.1. This doesn't make sense to me.
