    Router Acting as VPN Client?

Are the any Router on the market that can act as a VPN Client instead of a VPN Server. The idea is that every Single Connection to this Router would be make through the VPN Connection. Without having to set a VPN connection username and password in every connecting client.

Does new Interl D525 Atom processor news have anything to do with QNAP TS-#59+ Models

DDR3 should improve memory performance and lower power used by Ram. But none of these are bottleneck or problems. The 200Mhz performance different is negligible. What we need is 32nm Die Shrink of the Atom with much lower price. I keep thinking Why ARM are not pushing into High Performance NAS.

Cisco Gets Serious About Small Biz Storage

Well Since no one is replying i start digging a bit for myself. 1. While thiggins is right about Qnap still listed on Amazone, but that is limited to entry level product. None of the Large Online Retailer have any Qnap Dual Core Atom series in stock. 2. TS 259 Pro used cost $599, the new Cisco...

    Review request: Drobo FS

$699 for an NAS that only perform 30 - 40MB/s range? COME ON!. I hope the performance can be enhanced through software upgrade. A Dual Core ARM 7 CPU should do better then that.

    Intel “storage-optimized” Atom-based platform

Nothing i can see. The IO isn't anything different to current North/Southbridge. The CPU still have iGFX which is waste of power and Die Space. It doesn't mention how many SATA / ESATA Port it has and Gigabit Ethernet Port. The Only improvement might be the I/O Chipset is slightly faster...

Just Wondering, It is an basically 1. A Dual Core Atom PC. ( With hardware Riad ? ) 2. Custom Linux Build with Web GUI. What is the different from Build one myself, and just Copy the Synology OS to my system. Because i bet this things cost $1000+, which means i literarlly pay 800+ more for...

Anyone know of any sites or projects that hacks this thing? It has better Hardware then Qnap 110 and Synology 110J. ( 1Ghz vs 800Mhz ) It is Cheaper then Qnap and Synology But it offer less features ( No Download Station, iSCSI, ESATA, ) And it is Slower..... The slowness must be a...

    NETGEAR Stora

@$229 USD and includes a 1TB HDD sounds like a fairly good deal. Although i Hope we finally get a DECENT CPU inside and not the SC101 one. Marvell 1.2Ghz would be nice :D

Marvell Kirkwood Series - CPU Limitations.

Thanks for the links, never knew the Marvell chips were so expensive. Intel Definitely gave the best price to performance ratio here. ( Which means they are making more money from Intel Atom based NAS )

Marvell Kirkwood Series - CPU Limitations.

The Kirkwood Series used in the latest Buffalo, Qnap 219, and Synology DS209, Seagate 220, and lots of other NAS. According to Synology it is an 16bit CPU ( I have doubt on that ) running in 800Mhz to 1 - 1.2Ghz. Even an iPhone 3GS CPU is 2 Generation ahead of it. They could afford to...
