    WNDR 4500 or e4200 V2

Are your clients 2 stream or 3 stream capable? If only 2 stream then you're wasting your $$ on a 3x3 router. Your clients will limit you to 2 stream (300Mb/s). If 2 stream look at the WNDR3700V2 (not V3) or the Apple Airport Extreme. My 2 cents.

    Switch

The Dell 5548 is a great switch. Probably way more than you need. A simple web managed switch will handle what you require. The Dell may not be the most economical decision, but definitely will do the job.

Least expensive way to bridge 2 buildings (DD-WRT)

"least expensive"? Grab a shovel and bury 25 feet of Cat5e/6a outdoor rated burial cable. This is your best option. Seriously!

    Switch

What are you trying to accomplish other than consolidation into one switch? Your JGS524 is a newer Gigabit switch supporting Jumbo Frames and I believe 48Gb/s bandwidth. The GS524 does not support Jumbo Frames. Its still a decent Gigabit switch and unless you're pushing serious data between...

    Robust Router

Agreed. The OP should definitely check his client drivers and make sure at least one can benefit from the less cluttered 5Ghz band.

Waiting For The WPS Fix - Linksys

If they know how to use Reaver, they know how to bypass both Mac filtering and DHCP/static addressing.

    Robust Router

PatrickS I bet your issue can be resolved with one of several modern dual band routers. Your 5 year old Airport Express is a doorstop. Dump it and don't look back. See if you can find a Netgear WND3700V2. If so get it and immediately upgrade the firmware to 1.0.0.12 from Netgear's website...

Looking for a proper Dual WAN solution

Zyxel USG50 or higher? I use them and they are close to bulletproof.

Looking for a proper Dual WAN solution

Its Dlink. Surely half the features won't work correctly.

    Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300

Same site sells a 150cm RP-SMA extension cable. You'll likely want three. Or maybe this gem from Newegg. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833998060 Regarding the 2 different PCIe cards, the one without USB is all you need.

    Backup software?

You should be able to backup your OU settings using Windows built-in backup app. Set it to backup the System state. You can also separately backup each GPO using this built-in app.

    wireless modem/router with internet traffic

My Netgear WNDR3700V2 has this feature. It doesn't have a desktop client to alert you, however it can be set to blink a light on the router and/or cut off your bandwidth when you reach a certain threshold during the month. Some ISPs offer a bandwidth meter app for free.

    Backup software?

Aravind Storegrid looks interesting based on your website, however I find nearly no independents reviewing/commenting on it. Pretty much only fake review sites that try to get a vig for selling a copy. Can you point me int he direction of a real review from a respected source? Thx.

    Backup software?

Take a look at KLS Backup Pro. I've been using for a couple years and have had no problems. Its rock solid. Developer is very helpful when you have feature requests. http://www.kls-soft.com/klsbackup/index.php

How to add wired and wireless to another part of the house?

You can purchase a wireless router and convert into an access point. Once converted into an access point, the 4 LAN ports can be used like a switch. So, you'd connect one of the 4 LAN ports to the Cat5e cable you run from downstairs and that connects the access point to your LAN. Now you have...

    Router with fine access controls

B4 you purchase new equipment check OpenDNS. Setup an account with them and you can create content filtering. Be sure to direct DNS traffic to their DNS servers. Also best to create a rule in router to force DNS to OpenDNS servers. This stops people from working around OpenDNS and using...

    Wireless Mini Pci Express Cards

I agree with Tim. Right now 3x3 doesn't make much difference. Only case (sometimes) is if the client is very close to the AP/router. Even then its hit and miss.
