    ASUS RT-AC1900P Firmware version 3.0.0.4.380.7266

Dieter...curious how you like the 1900P and what you had before. I have the AC-56R which has been good to me, though I'd like better range and throughput on the 5 gHz band. Thanks

    New firmware for RT-AC56R , version 3.0.0.4.380.7266

Just posted today on the support site. Installed on my router without any problems. Cheers!

RT-AC1900P - Prevent device access to WAN

I'm curious what router you had previous to this one. As you know it's received the top review of any here on SNB and I've been curious whether upgrading from my AC56R to the 1900P makes sense. Their hardware is very similar though I'd like better throughput and range on 5 gHz then I get now. Thanks

    RT-AC56U/R vs RT-AC68U/R question

Thanks..if you read the posts by others they allude to the fact that the 56 and 68 are nearly identical as I said previously. When compared with the 1900P, it appears it's newer yet the review concludes that there's no significant benefits in changing. Does your post mean you differ on this?

    RT-AC56U/R vs RT-AC68U/R question

Interesting...but from what others here say, the 1900P is nearly if not identical to the 68U which has the same hardware as my 56R but with 3 external antennas...Why do you say the 1900P is 'godly'?

    RT-AC56U/R vs RT-AC68U/R question

Thanks again though I have no idea what the WRT-54G series is, ha ha. Regardless it seems best to just stick with what I have even if the range is limited.

    RT-AC56U/R vs RT-AC68U/R question

sfx2000... I believe I'll do as you suggest for now since I've read quite a few posts from people that own the AC3100 and the issues they're having. As the old saying goes, 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it" Thanks much for all the advice

    RT-AC56U/R vs RT-AC68U/R question

Thanks Pete...I've heard similar opinions about the two since they're nearly identical. Any idea why the 3100 isn't on the Hot list while the 1900P gets top award?

    RT-AC56U/R vs RT-AC68U/R question

Thanks Pete...that makes it much clearer though I'm unsure whether I have the 1300M clients on either band. After reading the review of the AC1900P it appears it's nearly identical to the 68U which are much more available on Ebay where I scored my 56R brand new. I'll set up a watch for a new 68U...

    RT-AC56U/R vs RT-AC68U/R question

I've had my AC56R for a couple of years and other than one minor issue which was quickly repaired while under warranty, it's worked very well. Before purchasing it one of the more senior members here told me that the hardware of the 56 was identical to the AC68U/R with the exception of the...

    ASUS RT-N56U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.380.4180

When I search for my "R" version it doesn't show this update. Meanwhile 380.3264 has been running quite well on mine though I'd hoped for an update by now. As an average user I see no real advantage in moving to Merlin or Padavan...my $.02 :)

    RT-AC56R firmware updates?

I notice the last update was released last May and haven't seen a beta or anything else since. Does this mean there will be nothing further? While my router works fine, it seems unusual for a company that seems to always improve their firmware and devices.

    Firmware update

Yeah, I'd agree here..my AC56U has been working flawlessly with the last update from May..not sure what could be improved to be honest

Beside wireless, what benefits do AC56U or AC68U have over N17U?

I was using a single band Netgear router provided by Comcast and found a brand new AC56R on Ebay for $55. Having a router that's AC enabled, along the 5 gHz band which is far faster than 2.4 and MUCH less crowded, the router has been rock solid. Also it's the same hardware at the AC68U minus the...

Did Asus pull support for the RT- AC56U?

You bet.. and BTW I'm finding that since I updated to this version, my router now will update if there's a new version just by clicking the Firmware link at the top of the home page. But this is the latest version and works fine.

Did Asus pull support for the RT- AC56U?

First go here: http://www.asus.com/us/Networking/RTAC56R/HelpDesk_Download/ The very first firmware listed is the version you're looking for. Remember the 56R is identical to the 56U. Not sure why it isn't listed for the 56U though. Hope that helps

Does the RT-AC56U still have issues with 2.4ghz?

I have the AC-56R for about 18 months now. Other than a minor hardware issue which was repaired in 3 days, the router has been rock solid running Asus firmware rather than Merlin.. 5 gHz speeds are excellent and never had a dropped connection

Heads up.. RT-AC56U at Newegg for $49.99

Since I have this router I thought I'd share this killer deal which is even better than the one I scored on Ebay ($55). http://goo.gl/yK8KS1

Did Asus pull support for the RT- AC56U?

Correct.. I have an RT-AC56U, which as you know is a the dual band AC router. Totally rocks too!

Did Asus pull support for the RT- AC56U?

Not only do I not have issues, but for the first time since purchasing this router, all I had to do was click on the firmware version and it downloaded and installed the latest release. I've yet to have any issues with Asus firmware though I did notice that the latest version does not support...
