    Padavan's Custom Firmware

Isn't there VLAN support with one of the new firmwares? I see one titled "RT-N56U_3.0.3.0v-026 (en-ru). IPv6+IPv4. Linux kernel 3.0.50. 1xRGMII + VLAN1/2. Aria2 build" Although I have no idea what the Aria build is. EDIT: I see another one titled "RT-N56U_3.0.3.0v-026 (en-ru)...

    RT-N56U Firmware 3.0.0.4.260 time/clock issue

It does automatically sync. I know both of mine do. Although I don't see another entry with the correct time until it syncs the next day. But the time is always correct at the top of the sys log page after it boots. The last entry in the log after both of mine boot is the time sync which still...

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

Doesn't the guest network only give access to the internet? I've never tested the guest network part of my RT-N56U units. I do have one setup as a guest network, but I only use that for my Smart scale to connect to the internet.

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

I see there are new downloads. What is the difference between the "Aria" build and the regular one?

RT-N56U will hopefully fix my problem

I've been extremely pleased with Padavan's Custom Firmware on both of my RT-N56U boxes.

Are my wireless performance results typical for my equipment?

That's pretty bad if that is typical from the N66U. My RT-N56U gets faster throughput than that with a linkrate that low. With the signal going through a firewall made of brick and cinderblock around 30 feet away. I can typically get speeds around half of what the link rate is.

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

I went back to the 3.0.2.6-018 firmware on my two RT-N56U boxes.

Wireless help needed - not achieving speeds

You should be able to easily hit your max internet speeds over WiFi with a pc. With both my rt56u boxes I've hit 150mb/s throughput speeds when my media bridges aren't also connected. With my FireHD tablet that can get 75mb/s speeds using speedster.net. But I am also using the custom firmware...

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

I saw yesterday that there was a new firmware without ipv6. So I installed that since I'm not using ipv6 for anything. Sent from my HTC Rezound using Tapatalk 2

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

Thanks. I only realized later today that it was getting the time but it was getting it as the last part of the bootup process so the correct time wasn't showing in the initial bootup log like when I was using version x10.

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

I noticed with 018 that my 56U in AP mode is not pulling the time from the ntp server. Sent from my HTC Rezound using Tapatalk 2

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

I downloaded the full build, but I still see the same weaker WiFi signals over 5Ghz(maybe 2.4Ghz too, not sure yet). It's not really a big deal, but the drop is enough for a couple of my bridges to drop it's connection speed from the normal 270Mb/s. But i do see the issue with both my RT-N56U...

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

I see there is a new update. What is the difference between the full, mini, and micro versions?

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

I just installed the most recent firmware xxx015. I noticed on my RT-N56U that I use in AP mode that the wireless signal is weaker now. I first noticed it because I had a wireless Bridge that wasn't linking at 270Mbs it was less than half that. And when I checked the signal strength it was much...

    Ea-n66

The current firmware on the EA-N66 is lacking. I used one for several weeks during August and September and ended up returning it and getting another RT-N56U to use as an AP instead. It has none of the issues the EA-N66 had and with Padavan's Custom Firmware, it's much nicer to deal with than...

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

I can say that I've been running a gigabit network at home for eleven years now. At one point I had around seventy devices on it (with over a dozen Dlink gigabit switches spread around) but now i'm down to around 60 devices and I've replaced all my old Dlink GigE switches with seven of the newer...

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

Is there any disadvantage(or advantage) to dropping the HW_NAT to 8192? I've never even seen mine show more than 2000 connections.

    Padavan's Custom Firmware

Thanks!! I'm so glad I decided on this router because of the work on this custom firmware. Both of my RT-56U units are working great. I set up my second one as an AP this week and am getting excellent results with it.

Which one to use ...As main.

Which firmware is better? The custom firmware I'm using with mt RT-N56U is excellent. Which is the reason I purchased a second one to use as an AP to replace the EA-N66 I returned. Plus the RT-N56U is $70 less than the RT-N66U.
