    @Kingp1n can you see what client app is available for your vpn provider? Look to see if they have a setting in there for the android app for aggressive ipv6 blocking. If they do, side load the app on your fire stick. Doing it on device means you’ll be able to take it anywhere.

    Also if you’re not using VPN why not stick with ASUS wrt instead of Merlin and then you can use AImesh. Merlin doesn’t have access to the code to tie it into his FW.

    I just got my 86u and it’s a beast. I suppose they are both good routers but because I’m used to ASUS and Merlin I’ll stick with ASUS. The 86u and put your old router in AP mode connected via Ethernet for stability. That would be the best combo to have seamless Wi-fi. Older devices struggle...

    RT-AC86U & their new RT-AX88U models. The first one i named is on offer, normally £200 and during the Black Friday deals £152. The AC86U Beefy enough for the home and if your really want to spend £300 the latter. My AC56U was EOL so I got the RT86U. amazing bit of kit. Very powerful indeed.

    I’m having the same issue as you. Phones will pick up all SSID’s but other devices will only pickup 2.4ghz. Just got the router. Just out of interest are you running any other ASUS routers in AP? I have my old ASUS router in AP mode.

    Good offers on amazon ASUS Rt-ac86u. Run a cat 6 ftp cable up to the next floor and put the Airport in AP mode. Much more reliable that repeating the wireless. That’ll fix the poor Wi-fi through thick floors. It has logging with a nice WebUi. Use Merlin-wrt software on it.
